Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Too good to be true imho, considering what you would expect to spend on a quality battery that size and how much that leaves remaining for the whole kit???

    Rack-mount battery standards

Kind of yes, but not really, that is there are a couple of systems used by generic suppliers, but also a number of proprietary systems too.. If you could take photos of the battery and its rack connection and give the make/model of your bike, im sure you can get steered in the right direction.

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Ive had some time consuming clobber over the years Over trousers and boots were indeed some of the worst offenders. reaching laces when clobbered up with quilted layers and stiff waxed outer layers let alone tying them securely is a challenge..

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Most ebikes will sail through 15 miles with nominal input from the rider beyond keeping the pedals moving and balancing so fitness wise you can decide how much effort if any you want to contribute, so if you can walk for an hour and 15 mins you can ebike for the same duration ok imho. the faf...

    500w E Bike ins

I had to get my ebike kit and then work all this out too. The problem with using watts as the limiting metric for motors is that the watts expended is a result of work demanded and available power. For DC current the calculation for watts is simply Volts X Amps. source.. but that just reveals...

    EBay Batteries

If no one was buying them there would be fewer ads.. devious overpricing of garbage lulls too many into thinking its a real bargain too. Perhaps if phones had kept to using easy user replaceable batteries re-wrap and fake battery awareness would be more prevalent? - its a conspiracy i tell ya..

    500w E Bike ins

What prompted the choice of the bikes? Might be a lot cheaper and easier to retrofit 250w motors?? over amp them with the existing controllers if the extra oomph is needed?? if spoked wheels with hub motors its very doable after watching the right 10-15 minute utube.. tools needed are a bike...

Recycling 9 year old 36v batteries

I would hang onto it as an extra 17miles when needed could be a godsend. and your bound to have a situation in which it would be useful as soon as you get rid. Otherwise if not too nervous to prep properly and open up the case to test the cells (dont fully discharge or discharge below 32v or...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Any bike/ebike shops/showrooms near you @goral ? A quick test ride on any 250w bike mid drive or hub will give you instant appreciation of the power available and the wee factor involved.. Failing that strike up a conversation at the bike racks, Ive been asked a few Q's outside tesco.. Im not...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Yes but a bike thats not upto handeling the power on rd isnt going to perform better off rd. Its not a case of "dont be a bad boy and obey the regs" its more of a case of Sure you can pick up the milk and paper from the corner shop in a 7 ton truck, do you want to?

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

My experience is limited to a single supplier with a eu/uk 'shopfront' the 250w kits are restricted by a custom f/w on the controller unit for the eu market. thats a rabbit hole im comfy in and have threads on pedelec.de with their f/w gurus on the subject ;) "The exception that proves the...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

With my old back wheel hung up on the shed wall I only noticed the ridged profile of the braking surface ( 1mm triangular ridges running the circumference of the wheel) after changing the front wheel brake blocks and had to double check as i recalled that as being smooth rimmed. , Its not eating...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

My kit was via Yose-Power (chinese with uk based web site and eu/uk wharehouse so complient with eu/uk regs mostly) , and a good rep for batteries (welcome to critisism on this point), and was complete with a 36v 17ah battery. rear wheel 700c size the 700mm again.. 28" to most 29" to some but...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Thanks for the correction, I have No experience with the mid drives and above is based on what i have read only and misinterpreted apparently ;) ? but with the drive via the chain ring are the pedals not revolving at stupid rpm at full throttle? take your feet off and loose one trying to...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Had similar wheel size queries when shopping for my conversion kit but i can spot a clear 700x35 stamped on the tyre ;) thats 700mm x 35mm . +1 to everything @saneagle says above. since fitting the rear wheel kit this summer Ive already replaced the brake blocks and my white/cream tyres are...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

Fwiw im not small, under 100kg just,, and the 250w rear hub motor on the bike pictured in my profile pic ( a £200 ortler) rolls up hills near me with nominal input from myself, and on the flat i can if i choose ghost pedal and roll along at 15mph which is pretty much the limit im happy with...

Hi - I have a few questions about what to choose?

What bike is undergoing the conversion, and whats the expectation in terms of range weight carried and terrain/conditions. Generally rear wheel hub drives are preferred over the front since more weight is focused on the rear hence added traction where powerful front hubs could just spin on the...

Help! Where can I get a good ebike battery UK

Considering the Budget and quality of components wouldnt it be worthwhile spending an extra couple of hundred getting it road tested as an emoped/m-bike?? or at least looking into.. it wouldnt be plod stopping and taking the bike that would keep me up at night but the risk of injuring a 3rd...
