My local riding haunt is in the 500 acre and also the woodland on the right hand side from it as you head down towards Church Hill. It only takes me about five minutes to reach the 500 acre.

Weirdly none. The cut just seemed to close itself up, and didn't reopen.

I was puzzled by the desire to use a cycle to mount any form of stabilising device. To me it sounds like it could be too much hassle trying to position the bike in the desired spot and height, to make it worth considering. Other than lunar shots I rarely require the need to stabilise, but do...

What are you taking photos of on a ride that requires the use a tripod? .

I haven't been out that way at all this year on the bike. I might well do so this weekend, as the roads and bridleways around Horsted Keynes are lovely to cycle.

And in the case of the above, a dad that isn't so bad on a bike either. :D Having said that, he didn't do so great in this clip from a year ago. The tumble in this one resulted in a broken wrist.

@Artstu the following Youtube clip might well be of interest to you. It is the ten year old son of one of my mates, filmed a couple of weeks ago. I might well be biased, but he certainly seems to have some talent for downhill riding. :)
