Good to see that you are still alive and kicking as well. I already have a love hate relationship with the front rack. The load carrying capacity is great, but it is a bit disconcerting not being able to see the front tyre when riding off road. I suspect that night riding with it is also going...

    Hemiway Cruiser

Just had my first hiccup with the bike. The console reading for the battery level is next to useless. 5 miles from home and it was reading 2-3 bars out of 5 remaining, and the bike got slower and slower, then all but cut out. Trying to pedal and push a bike that weighs near on 35kg for 5...

    Hemiway Cruiser

Yesterday's ride didn't really go to plan. I thought that I would visit old haunts, but didn't realise how wet and muddy that it was going to be, nor how my ride routes have changed so much over the last two years of not having ridden them. The rain has caused alot of erosion, and there were...

Back on topic. I finally made a bit of time today to take the bike off road. The power delivery is a bit sketchy, but I think that I can fine tune that at some point. The tyres seem to be adequate rather than great, but I wasn't exactly expecting miracles from them. It was certainly good fun to...

Which electric cargo trike? Which are most reliable?

This popped up just now whilst I was researching cycle trailers. https://jorviktricycles.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjw_MqgBhAGEiwAnYOAesKMXAKIQ8aj81f84cjJMhqtA_MSdBkdDjVJA5bWzgttOh3zAix5zhoC-aoQAvD_BwE

It appears from what had jotted down, and from a quick Google, that it is Luan Xing motor, and supposedly 750w. Not sure how they got that past our legally required 250w, but the frame does have a questionable looking CE sticker. The bike comes as standard with the speed set at the legal limit...

    Hemiway Cruiser

I shall look into for you, and take a photo. I have stupidly forgotten the brand at the moment, but know that it isn't a Bafang. I also suspect that it is a probably a 500w motor not 250w.

Which ebike purchase under a grand

I have no idea what the carrera range of ebikes is like, but I often see people commuting to work on them. A quick search reveals that Halfords has returned bikes from about £750.00 upwards.

Hi Andy, I completely agree. The company are sending out bikes foc to many people who have a YT channel, especially camper users. It certainly wouldn't be my choice of bike to put on or in a camper. I would be looking more for something like a 20" step through. But on the subject of using the...

The first addition to the bike. An Amazon purchased rack that a friend modified with an additional bracket to fit the bike. The modification will also allow me to tidy up the cables a bit better at some point, by threading them through the rack bracket. The bracket was my design, which I made a...

This is the clip that got my motivation back. The sort of sensible review of the bike. And this is a silly review which perhaps doesn't

    Which brand is this?

Something like a Radrunner with the passanger package? I say 'like' as the seat rail is the wrong shape. Could also be a Fiido, but the rear end still isn't quite right. What ever it is, I would guess that it has 20" fat tyres.

    Legal Pitfalls

You sound like me. In my 15 years of riding emtb's etc, I have never snapped a chain. The one exception being on my analogue mtb. If anyone was going to suffer from a snapped chain, I suspect that it would be me. I would be curious to see the forum links for all of the ones that have.

Sorry, I actually meant to say about that as well. Last April after 34 years of being self employed, I made the decision to get a full time job. The last job that I did being self employed, caused some permanent shoulder damage, and decided that enough was enough. I am now part of the...

Hi everyone. :) Many thanks for the kind words. Keeping things short.... Sadly life has rather gotten in the way of thing over the last two years or so, and the pandemic sort of screwed my whole interest in along with many other things, cycling. Odd how things turn out. Over the last couple...

A random thread for things too unimportant for their own thread...

It was actually just me by my self. :) The council were involved, but not in a capacity as I would have expected. As part of my oak framing work, I deal with building control quite regularly, but this was quite a relaxed affair, and all that was asked for was photos.

Thank you for the compliment. This bridge is on a bridleway, and if it had been allowed to crumble, the council intended to replace it with a basic wooden bridge. The bridge as it stands, dates from about 1860, and the track that it is on, used to form part of a main pack horse route, shown on...
