    Bosch - New eMtb mode

As said, I want full control of the power settings, or more importantly to me, the battery consumption. I don't want it and have no need of it. Being just software, I'd be very surprised if it can't be removed, but I won't be keeping the bike for long if it can't be removed. Bosch should have...

    Bosch - New eMtb mode

Annoyingly the new bike has it fitted as OE. :( I still don't want it, still have zero interest in it, and just need to find the time to get it removed. I prefer to be in full control of the power settings, battery consumption, and not have control taken away from me in respect of sport mode.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Sadly disappointing photos from yesterday's superb 20 mile evening/night ride. So good just to find the time/energy to get out and go for a ride. Another week or so, and work will have settled, and I can get back to some decent riding time in again. Under the elephant beech.

    Bosch performance line v Cx

Having owned both, I actually quite like the Performance Line over the CX, or at least for when riding in the UK. The main reason being that the Performance Line is certainly more frugal in respect of draining the battery, and achieving range. Any short fall in NM can reasonably be compensated...

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

I'm used to it. ;) I seem to have a natural ability where by I can strip something down to full component stage, leave it pieces for three years or so, and still remember where every single nut and bolt went. :) Just two examples.

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

Hi Paul, it's only nuts and bolts. :) Sadly work has been manic over the last week for both myself and my bike shop owning friend, so I haven't had time to pop into the shop for the wheels, and he hasn't had time to check them for me yet. The aim is to collect them this coming Monday, but I'm...

KTM Macina Lycon - Rear suspension

Glad that you are all sorted. :) I think that I know which bearing that you mean, the main pivot bearing itself? I really can't remember what I used the very first time of removal. I'm sure that I removed the rocker assembly, placed the assembly onto a profile of wood, then used a drift to...

KTM Macina Lycon - Rear suspension

Sadly I'm not sure which bearings that you are struggling with, but mine have always pressed out with no issue.

    The new best headlight

Same light in the evening. Not much, if anything at all wrong with that. :)

    The new best headlight

That's amazing, it actually makes everything look like daylight. :D

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

As said above, I'm happy to judge for my self, but mine don't twist as those in the clip are doing. I assume that is a cycle shop, and that the bike is in repair, so without actually being there to see what is causing the twist, I'm making no judgement. From working on countless inverted forks...

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

It'll certainly be interesting see how the paint finish cleans up. I'm already worrying about greasy fingerprints. :D I'll have to hunt out the white gloves for this one. :D

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

I know. :) That was another reason for opting for this bike. I fancied taking photos of something other than black. :) I have already been discussing the EX1 chain, or rather the whole SRAM system privately over a period time, whilst trying to gain an insight into durability, and for this...

    2017 KTM Fogo 271

2017 KTM Fogo 271 I have long had a passion for hardtail mtb’s be them analogue or pedal assist, and have found the eMTB version through ownership of the superb KTM Macina Race, to make the perfect bike for wet weather/winter use. With the Macina Race now sold, it is time to introduce the...

    Next MTB after KTM Macina

In respect of cycle racks that lower, I have no idea what is available, but it sounds to me as though it could be something that is worth exploring. If you are happy with the Macina Lycan, and it has no known faults, then it could make economic sense to keep it. Taking into account depreciation...

    Next MTB after KTM Macina

The model year Lycan that you own weighs 20.8kg. How about changing to a Macina hardtail? It would give you a weight saving of approximately 2kg. My Macina hardtail weighed in at 18.7kg, and removing the battery from the bike would reduce that weight by a further 2.5kg. Trekking/utilty style...

Chain 10 gear shiano for KTM Lycon

Assuming that you are running a Shimano set up, the lever is exactly what Trever was refering to. With the clutch engaged, the derailleur is hard to move, and disengaged is it easy. Always disengage it when removing the rear wheel. I use a Sunrace 11-42 currently on my Lycan, but believe that...

Chain 10 gear shiano for KTM Lycon

From my own experience, there are basically two things that can cause a chain suck issue with the Bosch drive unit. The first being wet/muddy conditions if the DU is still fitted with a sprocket guard. Removing the guard as in the photo below, is an instant cure for that cause. With sprocket...

Review Woosh Rio MTB Review/Initial Impressions

Only trying to help. Those fork sliders aren't going to last long if left as they are. They are already looking the worse for wear with score marks. Feel free to moan to Woosh with yet another complaint, due to your own ignorance.

Review Woosh Rio MTB Review/Initial Impressions

Those fork sliders look fairly greasy. To prevent them from becoming scored and damaged, it would be prudent to carefully wipe them clean, and preferably also remove the seal at the top, and do the same. A periodic application of Fork Juice or similar is also worthwhile.
