    Electric2011 Dahon Jetstream P8

Dave, that was what I thought for crank drive. They're probably not the best for city riding. I'd get crazy to change gears before and after every red light lol. I was thinking of the bpm or maybe the new double speed motor. Have you look at it? And how can I add hydraulic disk brake to the...

    Electric2011 Dahon Jetstream P8

I don't mind for any crank drive. I need acceleration and 30mph. Acceleration a little higher than my Mac 8T at 2000W on my brompton would be good. Something that would allow me to wheelie lol. My mac didn't have enough torque for that. I'm thinking to put the battery on the bottom of the...

    Electric2011 Dahon Jetstream P8

In my quest of having a more comfy ride, I haven't found my DH bike for good price, but I've managed to get a Dahon jetstream for 380GBP delivered: I'd like to have a lightweight powerful motor able to give me 30mph. I'm thinking of the BPM overvolted to 72V: Bafang BPM 36V500W Rear...

    Battery Charger ???

For me, you either have: - 1 to few damaged cells. During charge your damaged cells reach immediately high voltage cut off. So charger stops. Then cell drop back to "charge" voltage (ie: < 4.1V). Then charger starts again to charge, and cells reach high voltage cut-off - Or your whole pack is...

bad news, for some reason the controller stopped working. I replaced it with a spare 72v controller and had to test the 36 hall/phase combinations and ended up with 1 that works fine... at low amp only. As soon as I increase it over 2 amps, the motor overspin without any possibility to stop it...

I tried a resettable fuse as "on-off" toggle, it works like a charm :) I weighted the bike... it's at 21.5kg... It's really tough to loose more weight ahah. Thinking of removing the rear rack to loose a bit more... Now.. now now.... I still have a problem. I've been thinking for a LONG...

The US18650V3 are really nice cells, after I discharged the pack of 6.7AH, They are all ordered like little solders: The only issue with these cells is that they discharge to 2.5V for full capacity. So I loose speed over time. After 8AH used, it drop to 65V under load. Quite a lot of...

I decided to install everything and have a ride to see how it goes :) What I can say is.... WOW I don't know if it's because I shaved 5kg from the bike, or if it's because the weight is in the frame, but the experience is VERY DIFFERENT I can ride comfortably at 30mph, take little bump...

Thanks Dave. I managed to get them at 2GBP/cell shipped by buying a big order (350 cells) from Keeppower. This pack of 72v11.25AH costed me 200GBP. I think it's an excellent price. If anyone from the forum want some cells I can ship some to them for the price I paid because I owe so much to...

I decided to move my battery pack to the frame: I use 5mm pvc foam sheet as they are good insulator and easy to shape: About 600g for the box.

I decided to cycle them 100 times to see if the lifecycle mentioned was true. But because I have an icharger, I couldn't discharge to 2.5V as it was done during the tests: Capacity decrease was related to increasing resistance on the cell after 100 cycles at 5A. I discharged them after at...
