How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

My brain can't even begin to grasp what's required to do this.

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

It's not as clear as that though is it. Taken from the same link that you visited, but which you conveniently choose to leave out. Also just for the record, Halfords, Decathlon and Eurolight all sell BS approved lights. The Euro-friendly clause Thanks to a European Directive of a few years...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

Izzy, it's not that off topic. It could equally have been a Haibike. :) Having said that, I didn't spot the cable ties that are required to hold the suspension linkages together. ;)

Don't know about Waldo, I want to know where the mud is. Come on SW, get Triggers broom off road. ;)

    Bottle Carrier

I probably drink a litre of fluid an hour on an average off road ride. More if it is a hot day. Even then, I'll often return and find that my pee might have that not so good dark yellow appearance. After just an average evening ride with riding mates, I'll return with soaking wet clothing from...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

You do realise that this comment is useless without pictures to prove it. ;) The girls that is, not the bike! .

You should remove the KTM name from that. I makes it read as though they have consented to the poking of Martin, which I'm certain that they won't appreciate. The lack of a response from Martin is enough to tell me all that I need to know.

    Bottle Carrier

I'm another that prefers to carry my water, and use two different Camelbak's. A Rogue and a Mule. The Mule is superb, and you don't even notice that you are carrying it. Bottle cages for off road use are a waste of time. If the bottle doesn't bounce out, it'll just get covered in mud. Rogue...

Solution for chain suck, Bosch performance line

The clutch basically prevents the jokey wheel cage from being pulled forward. It's brilliant at helping to prevent a chain from bouncing and jumping the front sprocket on any bike over rough terrain, it is supposed to make gear selection smoother, and it has the bonus that it will 'almost'...

Solution for chain suck, Bosch performance line

That is just down to the very acidic, and very abrasive powder fine sandy soil conditions that I have here. It would happen whatever the bike. When dry, the residue is like talcum powder. Aloppes a rear mech (derailleur) with a clutch will sort it out. . .

    An evening spent pottering around.

So good to see you back out on the bike again TK. I'm sure that I wouldn't be alone in saying that you have been missed. :) As usual, a brilliant write up, superb photos, and stunning scenery. I'd almost forgotten what your bike looked like. ;) I'm hoping to be down in October, so perhaps we...

Just found out I will be losing my job...

Strange how certain threads stand out. I've been self employed 29 years, and made the very tough decision today, and have folded my business. My on going joint issues has really meant that this has been on the cards for the last two years, which is pretty much how long that I have been...

    Which FS MTB?

Legalities of use aside, If you are talking of bikes in that standing, I'd rather have a Conway E-Rider. Sadly they have now lost the plot on the style front though. http://www.conway-bikes.de/e-rider-extreme-2/?lang=en http://www.e-rider-shop.de/index.php?language=en .

    Which FS MTB?

I've certainly not yet found that the standard Performance line motor runs out of "breath" on steep climbs. I'd run out of breath before the motor does on steep climbs. You still need to be able to cycle past the cut off point to take any advantage of speed, and on a steep climb it isn't going...

Electric Mountain Bikes: No one will buy one?!..

I think that KTM Bike Industries UK has a raised a perfectly valid question, as has Soundwave in relation to warranty claims for Bosch powered bikes fitted with dongles. Contrary to what you say Martin, you are actively helping to kill the off road use of e-mtb's, not supporting the role of...

    Bosch vs. Brose

I'd go along with what Martin has said, and no he isn't just being biased towards Bosch.

I've not looked at my trouble free DT Swiss 350, but I guess that you simply undo it from behind. There must be loads of YouTube clips showing it. You would also be better off asking in the following section, rather than in the gallery thread. There are probably many forum users that don't look...
