I'd like to know what fails in the motors and how the failures have been resolved? At the moment I'm under the impression it is the freewheel/hub in the motors that breaks, and it has been resolved by making the motor soft start and with lower power? I'm sure a comprehensive answer to that...

Honesty and openness are all that is required. Up until now my perception based on postings here, is that Impluse motors are unreliable and 50cycles are unhelpful and give poor customer service.

Except the Karoo doesn't have a 20ah battery. Seriously I think the 15ah battery would be flat at around the 30 mile mark if I rode it around here. Sorry about the extra h woosh

I guess there must be a few configurations they can be set to, wheel size and whether they are for a bike with a derailleur or hub gears, the later having a softer start and less power. Have you a link to the supplier please? I'm tempted to buy a spare motor.

I used to, although I only ever borrowed them for a few hours, these days I often don't even bother looking and just list as e-bike now. KOM's on the flat take some beating on a hybrid.

If only that were true, I'd have to be extremely economical with the assist power on my bike to achieve 70 miles from 500 wh, it's more in the region of 30 miles or less for me.
