New Baby - KTM Macina Bold 2016 Model

I had a short test ride on one and it was the forks that put me off, far too much shock getting to your arms. I have a few bikes with solid forks and none give anything like the ride of the Bold. An Alfine chain tensioner could prove to be a good addition, although they need a small mod to fit...

Spotted! Although, not quite an ebike. :)

I was repairing a 4-wheeled mobility scooter the other day, when we returned it I mentioned these 2-wheeled scooters. There are certain situations where having one would be handy, but it would need to have a 4 mph and 8 mph limiter for me to use it going round a show. The 8 mph ones need to be...

    your gainful employment ?

Usually parents are less pushy at cycling events than other sports. G certainly enjoys winning, understandably she doesn't like getting wet and muddy. Even I end up getting a bit muddy. I have a good job really, next round this Saturday, forecast is better this week, although it was supposed to...

    your gainful employment ?

Yes work certainly gets in the way Eddie, illness takes away so much, and yet on the other hand allows limited opportunities for other things. Their Mum and another cycling friend started an after school bike club a couple of years ago, even though they're a small school they've now got two...

    your gainful employment ?

Acquiring a chronic illness at age 38 forced me to retire at 40, ten years on I still have the illness which affects all aspects of life, I'm quite severely restricted in both energy and income. I try to make the most of the hand I've been dealt. Almost all my energy currently goes on race team...

Chasing elevation gain and gradient, plus general ride achievements.

If anyone looks at my stats add about 20% to my climbing figure, Garmin 200's always fall short of recording the correct climbing figures for some reason.

First hand experiences of ebikes in subzero temperatures?

I know that battery range suffers in cold conditions, which I'm sure you're already aware of, by how much I don't know.

    Oxydrive ride recorded on Strava.

Just looking at it on google, the google car got a great view of it from 8 or 9 feet up in the air.

    Absolute newbie to e-bikes!!

I agree Dave, a bike with a throttle and speed sensor is the safest and best option, my first bike had those. I'm lucky to have been a good cyclist prior to illness and I've managed to keep hold of my big leg muscles.

    Absolute newbie to e-bikes!!

At the risk of spiiting hairs chronic fatigue could of course mean lots of different things to different people. Saying you suffer from CFS/ME is a different matter and conveys a clearer picture, well to me at least. I personally would never say I have chronic fatigue, more likely I'd say I have...

    Absolute newbie to e-bikes!!

I'd go full size bike and crank drive, but a hub drive will probably be better at your budget point. Bike containers, how does that work and have you a photo?

    The new best headlight

Are there any new dipped beam designs out there yet along the lines of mfj's home made design? my last cree light was annoying for people coming towards me. http://forums.mtbr.com/lights-diy-do-yourself/build-thread-double-xm-l-road-lights-746967.html

    Bosch performance motor crank movement

Thanks for that, I think that because I made the mistake of thinking the newer motor would share the same internal and external dimensions of the older motor, that affected my perception of size of the bearing in the photos. My Classic Bosch is getting ready for its 3rd drive side bearing, I'll...
