    Hello all

Hi Martin, welcome! Do you see many other people with ebikes in Poland?

Is there any good reason not to buy a Greenway E16M106?

My understanding of cycle2work scheme used by Halfords is that you can only go up to 1000 pounds and you cannot add to this (the bike doesn't belong to you until you make a final payment at the end of the scheme. Adding to the thousand you 'borrow' for a more expensive bike would imply part...

Getting the stated mileage out of a battery

(legal disclaimer... I'm a newbie, definitely not an expert and views are not my own :) ) Here are the details from suntour's website on battery storage and charging (this is the battery on a Carrera crossfire e)... What is the best way to store the batteries? Preferable storage condition is...

Which scenario drains the most battery?

The Carrera crossfire e has a button 'throttle' but its limited to 6 mph (I believe). Assuming it's normally used if you can't get the bike moving for physical reasons... Get it started with throttle then start moving pedals so pedal assist locks in. Could be corrected on this though from a more...

    Hallo from Warwickshire

Here is a folding trike on ebikes direct... They had a few other trikes on there as well that don't fold... https://www.e-bikesdirect.co.uk/electric-trikes/mission-space-genie-20-or-24-folding-electric-tricycle

    Electric bike magazine?

I got a magazine a couple of weeks ago from a large whsmiths in UK that was an American publication... Comes out every 2 months so will keep an eye out for next issue coming out. Decent magazine... Bike reviews, articles about how the bikes are made, riders stories, conferences... Covered...

    Cyclotricity Revolver or Carerra Crossfire

Cool, so you could get the 15 ah battery on the revolver for 800 quid. That's a larger capacity battery than the crossfire which is only 11.5 and the spec weight is about 3 kg lighter plus you get a rack and mudguards. The thing I'm always suspicious of with cheaper bikes like the revolver is...

    Cyclotricity Revolver or Carerra Crossfire

If I go to Halfords site and look at the revolver I get a message saying something about it not being available right now and to try later... Are you sure they still sell it? My advice between those 2 would be the crossfire... Better components and a better bike. I did it on the cycle2work...

    New ebike owner

Thanks guys, yeah I thought black went better with the color scheme of the bike. Planning on getting mudguards fitted at the 6 week checkup at Halfords... Got a free 150 quid voucher for accessories with the cycle2work scheme so got the marathon plus tires and the three year electric bike...

    New ebike owner

Hi, just got my first ebike last week. Carrera crossfire e, had the tires switched for schwalbe marathon plus before picking up and swapped saddle for a Brooks sprung leather one. Used to be quite a keen cyclist for about 7 years... Nothing too extreme... Done C2C 4 times over a variety of...

Most powerful eBike for long uphill journeys?

I would forget the gtech to be honest, I think the carreras at Halfords are better at that price and are better specced. Another to consider is the Carrera crossfire e. Similar to the Vulcan, although a hybrid rather than a mountain bike but does have some slightly better components. Although...

    Whats the difference.

I think we are all saying things like components/battery/frame material etc will be better but we might not have said how they will be better which is the main point of the op's question. As somebody who pre-electric had a stable of bikes in a range of costs my experience of the difference in...

    Whats the difference.

Components will be a big thing... I've recently bought my first ebike and what I found while looking into what to get (especially when you look at the bikes that the big regular companies like giant, specialized, cube etc are starting to turn out and the Carrera model as well) is that you are...

    IGH gears vs. derailleur

Derailleur, simply because with the choices I had given budget were all derailleur. Had hub gears on a Brompton before (non electric) and from a riding perspective I don't really have a preference... As long as the gears are suitable for the terrain I'm happy. Having said that I have cleaned and...

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

Sony apparently started out as a company with a reputation for producing cheap low quality tat, their main product being a deep fat fryer if memory serves correctly. They made it their mission one day to turn that opinion around and be known for high quality.

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

I was a keen cyclist for years but a back issue that I struggled with got progressively worse to the point where I could no longer ride. I recently had a discectomy and can now ride again but want to take it really easy to avoid my back issues returning. An electric bike enables me to cycle.
