    German e-bike market success

It seems you have a bias against Riese-Muller and anything labelled "German-made". I know my bike was made to order, whether in Germany or Outer Mongolia is scant relevance if the engineering was done by Herrs Riese und Muller. That every owner of an R-M electric bike raves about the...

    German e-bike market success

My comment just solidifies my inexperience regarding e-bikes. I chose the Riese-Muller Charger GT on the recommendation of an 80-year old friend who has put 4000 miles on his Homage since August.

I'm with you -- a light folding chair I can carry on my rack, and a thermos of Darjeeling tea, and I'll find my Zen. Health benefits are only second to mental benefits.

Why Isn't Cycling Normal in London?

I've seen the videos of London cyclists, and you have to have brass balls to get out there. There aren't many roads in England where you can cycle safely, so only having half the fatalities isn't something to write home about -- but I would like to participate in the Brooks Tweed Ride some day.

Report: Cycling benefits for the elderly

I'm 68 and a veteran of 2.5 heart attacks and I've just purchased my first e-bike for all the reasons stated above. My cardiac consultant advised me to attend a weekly exercise program for cardiac rehab, but there's no way I'm going to kill myself in a gym. Give me a racing heart on an e-bike in...

    German e-bike market success

The best e-bikes seem to be German-made. German engineering, and work ethic are a winning combination.

Why Isn't Cycling Normal in London?

Easy answer: too many dead cyclists.

    Should lights be mandtory

Any thing that helps to alert automobile drivers that you are on the same road as they are has to be a good thing.

Or, just pluck out the follicles like the ancient Egyptians, and North American indigenous peoples. And on behalf of all wet-shavers, let me say, "Ouch!"

    Hi from St Leonards

I think the bike I'm getting has the Schwalbe Moto-X tires that seem to hold up pretty well, and aren't prone to punctures. My biggest fear about getting a bike was dealing with punctures out in the boonies. And about the shaving ritual, yes you do have to do it again every few days, but that's...

    Hi from St Leonards

It's like any male hobby. There are myriad soaps, creams, razors, blades, brushes, etc. to spend your money on. There's nothing more relaxing than building a lather with a brush in a scuttle with warm water, and getting a baby-bum smooth (BBS) shave when you have the time to enjoy it.

    Hi from St Leonards

I've got about half of those, and my bike hasn't been delivered, yet. Some of the items were already equipped on the bike.

    Hi from St Leonards

The second razor I ever bought. A Merkur 39c. It's a slant-head razor that sells for about £40. I have friends on the forum www.theshavingroom.com that will spend £300+ for a stainless steel razor. Not necessary. The Muhle R89 is a great razor to start with, too.

    Hi from St Leonards

If I didn't have three years worth of soaps and creams, and 10 years worth of blades, so would I. I can't think of anything else I might need for my bike, but I'm sure the membership will steer me straight.

    Hi from St Leonards

Yeah, the bike has the Gates belt drive. I opted for something that didn't require maintenance as I am a complete sod with anything mechanical. My bike will only do 15mph, so I'm not worried about speed limits. I have the Bosch Nyon and all my projected routes are "scenic". I jokingly remarked...

    Hi from St Leonards

Just joined the forum, and just purchased a Riese-Muller Charger GT Nuvinci from Electric Bike Sales in Cambridge. I'm just waiting for Bosch to catch up on their battery production. I'm told it should be dispatched by the end of the week. All of you know how excited you are anticipating...
