If they won’t take PayPal / credit card, pay with fake notes. Dunno where you’d get fake currency from though

    BBSHD crank axle movement

So you found the pawl damaged, but did you inspect the driven spline into which the pawls engage? I’ve had to replace the splined part on two different bbsxx’s Not sure a clutch problem would explain your axial play issue though - could the retaining circlip have become unseated?

    Custom bike stolen

Cwah have you a plan in place if you do happen see your bike for sale? I had no plan earlier this year when I discovered my stolen boardman had popped up on eBay. If you think ebay or the cops will run to your aid, think again my friend. My suggestion is: If not done so already, immediately...

Hub motors for thru axle frame?

I believe stromers use a thru axle rear hub motor I get the impression there is no agreed standard for 142x12 dropouts to allow an off the shelf hub with universal frame compatibility - that was certainly the case when I looked into buying a thru axle rohloff hub last year

    dahon v brompton

Dahon with bbs01 fitted. PAS only, running displayless so no wires at the fold The kit was taken from my first ever conversion of a 26” wheel mtb - modifying the pannier to suit the 20” dahon wheel took most of the time

    Q128H

Here’s a speed graph of my commute home today. 22miles, battery fully charged to nearly flat in just over 1 hour. 36v q128c in a 700c rim, wound for the higher rpm. 22a controller I think, set to max current all the time

How much room do i need for downtube battery please?

That bike would make a fantastic conversion. It’s a more challenging conversion but your efforts would be rewarded Rack batteries don’t really work on fs bikes There’s smaller variant of the hailong battery case : 90x90x360 that may squeeze in. You need 360 + an extra 25mm for battery...

Looks like this type of integrated controller has a shunt. Whether it’s sensible or to solder is another question though

Advice on ebike conversion kit for 30mile commute

All solid reasons Eclipse do a 48v hailong battery with 65 18650 cells - that will give you the most amount of energy this side of a custom battery You’d need to dial down the current a bit from maximum to squeeze 30 miles, but an average 20mph should be achievable if you’re already a strong...

Kit that works with display removed or switched off?

Same controller as mine - an lcd3 will do the trick If your pas light is flashing with spinning cranks, that’s a good sign. All should be well once you’ve reprogrammed c1 (I’ve had most luck with setting to 3) All my bikes have 52t chainrings- only occasionally do I spin out, at about 31mph...

Kit that works with display removed or switched off?

I too didn’t have any luck with the newly released Bluetooth adapter (plugged into an s09), bit of a shame I’ve found the controller does indeed remember settings after the display is removed Just to be sure you order the correct display, model controller do you have? For minimal hassle, I’d...
