A great looking project. I bet you've learnt loads whilst building it and although you think it did not end up cost effective, you now have the equipment for future battery builds which will then work out a lot cheaper. This is a project I am plannig on doing too later this year or next year...

You need to check the output volts of both chargers are the same.

If the plug has only 3 pins then I guess the thin hall sensor wires are not connected and you have a sensorless controller, therefore I would try soldering a 3 core flex wire on the 3 thick wires between the motor and the connector. and leave the thin wires unconnected.

I have a the same problem and have recently read that if you hang a plumbbob down in line with the bottom bracket the saddle should be 2 to 2 1/2 inchs back from the plumb line. Mine is not back that far so will adjust when I can.

Knowing me, if it CAN happen it WILL happen so I best buy some red and black permanent markers for the cells.

Having commuted 20miles daily with 'assistance' I would recommend that one, it is great fun and also gives the sence of achievement every day, probably easier than taking a foldable with you on a bus too but depends on a lot of things like distance etc.
