The battery is built.... Now for

A great looking project. I bet you've learnt loads whilst building it and although you think it did not end up cost effective, you now have the equipment for future battery builds which will then work out a lot cheaper. This is a project I am plannig on doing too later this year or next year...

    Measuring 18650 cell capacity

That unit looks good, testing 4 cells at a time will certainly speed things up.

    Measuring 18650 cell capacity

So I've lots of these cells out of my old ebike battery to check and match up. The routine I've come up with is 1 - charge up to 4.2v and leave a day or so to settle and check they are still around 41.5-42.0v 2 - discharge to 3.0v@1a and take a mah reading on my imaxb6 for reference 3 - charge...

    Help Dillenger 1500w kit

If the plug has only 3 pins then I guess the thin hall sensor wires are not connected and you have a sensorless controller, therefore I would try soldering a 3 core flex wire on the 3 thick wires between the motor and the connector. and leave the thin wires unconnected.

    Seating position

I have a the same problem and have recently read that if you hang a plumbbob down in line with the bottom bracket the saddle should be 2 to 2 1/2 inchs back from the plumb line. Mine is not back that far so will adjust when I can.

    Retiring my Battery

It's a nice Sunday afternoon to continue the project outside (for safety). I have permission off the battery to do this from the "Cell Donor Card" I found inside the battery. So lets crack into those cells. 1 section done, 2 to go. This is the cells inside but cannot find any info on the...

Hobby king multi star on offer

    Those 6s 12aH packs are on offer under £49, so a 44v 12aH battery for under £98 + p&p so I'll probably go for a 2 of them instead.

    Single Chain Ring

    Retiring my Battery

Internal resistance is something I briefly saw mentioned when first starting out with lipo's but left it there, is this something I will need to monitor on my lipo's when I start using them? Do you monitor the internal resistance on your lipo's? I've just read something about I would need a...

    Retiring my Battery

Everyone in the house wants one of those powerbank things now I've mentioned it, so what is the easiest way of testing all the cells to identify the best ones? Is it a case of remove each cell individually and discharge/charge on an imaxB6 ? or can I test each string while still assembled and...

    Retiring my Battery

Knowing me, if it CAN happen it WILL happen so I best buy some red and black permanent markers for the cells.

    Retiring my Battery

Thanks for the ideas, my next question was going to ask if anyone has any ideas if the old cells can be used for anything and those are great ideas, I'll get those.

    Cadence computer wired or wireless?

I've recently been considering a speedict for other functions. How does the Speedict record the cadence, does it come with a PAS style sensor to add? or can it plug onto an existing PAS? Also I noticed it's not been updated for a couple of years and was wondering whether it's been abandoned now...

    Is E the answer?

Having commuted 20miles daily with 'assistance' I would recommend that one, it is great fun and also gives the sence of achievement every day, probably easier than taking a foldable with you on a bus too but depends on a lot of things like distance etc.
