    How do you ride?

About 70% of the journey on the way there. 60% on the way back. I use assistant to get me up to speed, on hills and giving myself a rest on the flat if my legs are battered.

PRO RIDER - this'll be interesting!

All you can really do with any of these bikes is read the specifications a take a view based on figures. The reason no one replies is generally because no one here will know. There are bike reviews on the forum that people have done on bikes they have owned or own. One person even wrote...

    The continuing search

Seems a bit pricey to me for what effectivly looks like basic kit. Standard 250watt front hub and a 9amp hour battery. Bike doesn't look to be anything special either but if you get good warrenty and support thats what you paying for.

Hope you enjoy your purchase and get out there. You do find excuses to go out on it. Most people at work thought i was nuts doing a commute. But you'll feel the benefits even it its just a bit of exercise! Not to mention the travel cost. Your wallet will feel better. Don't worry about the...

Electric bikes win the 2010 Pikes Peak (no surprises)!

Just took a look at those results and there's someone completing it on a Unicycle... Admitadly his doing it on his own. But seriously? maybe I'd create an electric unicycle and tackle the hills. Less weight and all power. Battery in the back pack and watch me go!

    Wh Per Mile

I'm currently using a turnigy watt's up meter. This tells me how much i've used during my commute and all i do is divide the amount of Watt Hours used by the milage I've completed. Not entirly accurate as I have no speed but I know the route and worked it out via good old googe maps...

What chain wheel are you currently on? SR Suntour XCT, 48/38/28 this is mine currently, with rear Shimano, 14-28, 7 Speed. Don't think it would be worth me going any higher than the 48 I don't think I have enough power to push through to an effecient leg rpm speed.

    Chain cleaning and oiling...

Sorry forgot to say a cheap "O" ring chain. Never the standard ones as your right they are useless and need adjusting constantly lol. That and I always used to go for the smallest front sprocket with the largest rear sprocket (Increased overal accleration but at the cost of fuel comsumption...

    Chain cleaning and oiling...

Admitadly alot of my knowledge is motorbike based. But when chaging chain and sprockets on a motorcycle you should always change them as a set. As failing to do so ends up with accellerated wear. I would think it applies on a smaller scale too.

    Wh Per Mile

Thanks very much, least this way it gives me a comparision that the bike isn't chewing up to much energy. Suprising what a head wind can do though to slow you down and use more battery to maintain a steady speed. One point it felt like I was hardly moving forward at all.

    Chain cleaning and oiling...

There's some good methods there. However this is the issue I've always had with any maintence on chains which I learnt on Motorbikes. It was easier and cheaper to buy cheap chain and sprockets and replace them more often and a reduced cost than buy super expensie chains and spend every...

    Wh Per Mile

Hello All, Quick question. Just wondering what you are averaging in Watt hours per mile. Currently I hit around the 7-8WH per mile. However this moring I managed becasue of the strong head wind to crank up 2.2amp hours for my total journey one way of 8.8Miles. Normally I tend to chew up...
