    Ryanair,incompetent or inconsiderate?

This is atypical of the Ryanair business model and also happens to be the tory way. If it isn't legally criminal, it is certainly morally criminal and thoroughly reprehensible. ryanair-pilots-hmrc-investigation-airlines-uk Tom

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Just in case anyone might have thought that the £1billion+ that fell out of the money tree, sorry, there is no money tree - I must have just made that up - was in any way a bribe or sweetener to ensure the DUP would support a continuing term of office with a majority for the tory party, then...

JC, the one from the Bible, was grassed up by one of his own band of disciples, leading to his demise. Another JC, the one who ruled in Rome a few years before the Biblical one made the limelight, was stabbed in the back by those supposedly close to him. Now, the current JC who has grasped the...

    Fascism returns to Spain

There's a very strong criticism of King Felipe by Thomas Clark, the Yorkshire blogger on his AAV page. These images give some insight: Here is the link to his full piece: king-felipes-hypocritical-and-cowardly.html Tom

    Fascism returns to Spain

I don't know whether the UK should recognise a breakaway region of Catalonia as we can only speculate about the delineation of any new state boundaries, plus there is the question of whether part of France would form part of the new State? Would the French government really allow part of their...

I came across this recently, accredited to Einstein: Does anyone else think the brilliant man may have been plagiarised by Martin Niemöller after WW2 or vice-versa?.....perhaps just coincidence. I don't know the dates of origin. First they came for the communists and I did not speak out...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Pericles was a Greek politician among other things about two and a half thousand years ago and I don't think he was a very nice bloke from my scant knowledge of that period in history. One telling remark ascribed to him though which may have some relevance today, particularly in Spain, was...

Given that the PM and others were telling their members at conference and the world at large that there are no schisms within the PCP, they are united and May has no intention of sacking BJ, I take this statement to be the collective view, representative of the whole party. If ever there were a...

Great Scot!.....Well, two of them actually: "The socialism I believe in, is everybody working for the same goal and everybody having a share in the rewards. That’s how I see football, that’s how I see life." - Bill Shankly Good coaches and born into socialism. If only Fergie would send...

    Fascism returns to Spain

Increasingly, I am finding that I like the slant of Craig Murray, historian and human rights activist, on all matters political. Here he looks disapprovingly at the mainstream media with regard to their coverage of events in Catalonia on Sunday: gross-dishonesty-mainstream-media-catalonia Tom

I remember reading a description of Hitler's beliefs and foibles many years ago but I can't remember who wrote it. It was someone who had a unique proximity with the führer, perhaps his chauffeur, batman or personal bodyguard - I really can't remember. Like the characteristics 'flecc' has...

    Fascism returns to Spain

I couldn't say 'Danidl' but while it is all very well for you (or I) to sit and objectively pontificate about these events, as I mentioned previously, democracies that fail to take account of all their peoples are always susceptible to public unrest. A caring government will enter into dialogue...

My opinion on that news organ is that it should be really named 'The Less Than Independent'. I was one of the early adopters when it first launched in 1986 and had high hopes for the paper, given such a high-blown, righteous title. My affection for it didn't last 12 months. Tom
