Yet Another London Cyclist Death Today

I cycle in london and live almost on one of the "cycle super highways" and tbh I see awful cyclists each day. The only thing I think that saves them is how stop start cars have to be in the city so they can't hit them more often at higher speeds. Jumping lights is just dumb, even on straight...

    Tyre question

The rim size is usually the same but then the tyre takes a rounded shape going from almost like a D with 1.75 to a O with 2.6. If you can picture it most hybrids tend to have a slick pattern 1.95 and most mountain bikes a nobby 2.25. Is rare but sometimes brake arms can also get in the way...

Swapping front chainring for larger size?

Adjusting the front derailur can be a real pain, going larger you will usually need to move it up the post it is on a little and then it can take ages to get it right. Sometimes it seems fine but the chain will jump when you have done a bit of biking so for the first few rides it can be annoying.

Headware? does anyone know anything about these helmets and the Decathalon stores

Almost everything they sell is "own brand" but never could decide if that was good or bad. The one nearest to me has been open for atleast 10 years. Usually they seem expensive for simple stuff so I get it another place. Decathlon Group - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia As for helmet styles a...

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

So where I am building a fibreglass cover for some sort of housing for them(likely make a clamp to fit my frame tubes and the battery holder things with the headway cells) then longer life will be better as I won't have to fiberglass/rebuild the housing for it.

Engineer required for EPAC + Cycle Manufacturing standards requirements work

I would try to find/get insurance as a prospective business using the cycles or a rival brands if you plan to market them. While they might be legal many wouldn't go within a mile of the idea if staff are left uninsured using them. I would also test the rims/spokes as loading up a fridge and...

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

Yes, I was just reading another topic about a converted hybrid with 16 or so cells and they seemed huge. Highly technical cereal box mock up will happen once amazon gives me my bike. What is GRP? Looking at the bottle batteries they seem to be li-ion instead of lifepo4. Lots of stuff seems to...

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

I have a plan for the new case. Step 1 - spray some foam onto a motorbike tank or similar nice shape Step 2 - cut/trim/sand to make a mould Step 3 - fibreglass the mould then cut off extra bits at edges Step 4 - take out the fibreglass and fill with a more suitable foam Step 5 - cruising Have...

    byocycle or woosh

They aren't mopeds or motorbikes. Most of the folding bikes come with smaller batteries to keep the weight down so don't have great range. I have been looking at getting a full size bike so reading plenty and decided to convert a bike as the cheaper bikes have ok while parts but crappy bike...

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

I think I just worded it badly but that all sounds fine. I'm going for a thumb throttle over a twist throttle to make it harder to engage. So unless someone throws out another option PAS sensor, throttle thumb thing, brake lever, led/lcd display with mode buttons.

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

I haven't ordered anything apart from the bike yet so if a different kit is better I can order that instead. Or if people know better places to buy batteries or anything I'm all ears.

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

Ok so fitting a PAS with a throttle and the front brake sensor means unless I pedal backwards and hold the throttle on it won't want to keep the motor going. So now I just wait till Friday when hopefully my bike arrives from amazon so I can get a tape measure on the space to fit stuff and...

    Cheap Chinese vs Cheapish Conversion?

Yes but the back hub contains a coaster brake so pedel backwards and it brakes. Would a PAS know that?
