I agree. Close passing has much reduced, or isn't as close. Should I glue two lollipops together? It's the drunk and tipsy ones, and taxi and delivery drivers. At night especially, drivers who accelerate to anticipate, beat or not notice trafic lights are very concerning, happens far more...

The lollipop on the passing side works well for the most part, but this driver tonight overtook too close on a blind bend. My camera is rubbish at night. The car was moving too fast to get a clear recording of the number plate

They misjudge my speed quite often and run out of space while overtaking. I've had a couple of cars start to overtake and screech out of shot, when they realised they're about to collide with oncoming traffic, but of course those videos can't show that because the field of view is narrower than...

Unless I see that a vehicle is approaching in my rear view mirrors, I ride middle lane. Unfortunately, this isn't possible or doesn't feel wise when there is a lot of traffic, which is when I stick to about a metre and a half away from the kerb. Perhaps I should try 2.5m and slowly work back...

It was probably driven by a badger, most cars are, like this BMW today. There's no telling what a badger might suddenly do :rolleyes:

Your solution is brilliant! Has your long arm been troubled by the long arm of the law? I particularly like that your safety device folds for traffic filtering. I think the lollipod would extend about 45cm from the centreline of my bike, which doesn't seem long enough to keep the buggers away...

Would 1m wide be too wide for the law? I don't see anything in the highway code about reflector width. Maybe it's down to traffic cop discretion?

My two flashers don't stop motorists passing too close. At least it wasn't as bad as a couple of weeks ago. In addition, I wear a flashing red LED sash on my back

He could have waited a bit before overtaking, having seen the white car... if he had been looking. Nobody else overtook like that Uber idiot. It's nearly always taxis which do this.

Wow that's nasty! I like it! Like the chariots on Ben Hur That's a very good idea. I'd make it 2m wide if it was legal to do so.

It's too bumpy on the pavement and around here it's full of pedestrians and dogs. Much faster direct journeys by road, but the potholes are killers
