    beat the racers

last night i went on one of my regular 20 mile rides, despite the black clouds and the 15mph headwind which was always there no matter which way i turned...strange because at some point i thought i would get an extra 15mph assistance ! Just approaching my last big climb a couple of guys on...

    Raleigh Dover

there is always scope for change if you need it later. Changiing the motor sproket to 11t wil lift the assistance speed and changing the rear gear sprocket will increase your gears so they are not as low.I only use my 1st which is the equivalent to your 2nd on the very steepest hills. 7th is one...

    Ebike as a tourer?

if you have a standard kalkhoff, not the s and no mods then with the new 18a battery the 80 miles would be acheivable. As soon as you start playing with the gearing then that becomes out of the question. If i am careful with mine i can get about 30 miles. In a flatter area it would be more.

Did not have the heart to tell him

i wear the lycra as its warmer and more comfortable. I think most people look at the gear and just think i am very fit....haha. Its such a good feeling when you spot somebody well ahead, slowly reel them in...then fly past.

    Pedelecs on bbc news northwest

At lunchtime today BBC news northwest featured a short item 0n pedelecs inhe Peak district. Bikes will be available to rent. 100 bikes will be available to rent at £25 per day. Available at some b&bs. If the scheme is sucessful it may be avalable in other areas. So it seems we will see more...

    Another cyclist dies

Personally i think one addition to a cycle can make it a lot safer. That one item costs £10. In a car we are taught to use our mirrors and it can be just as important to know whats going on behind as well as in front. So my proposal is to make a bike mirror COMPULSORY.On todays roads it can be...

What the budget did for Cyclists...

The point about the having to to 40 hours at driving school is that it will cost £700+ to do this....a bit more punishment. I also agree with the comments of scrapping the cars, the government said they would do this to non insurers and persistent offenders which they don't. It is about time...

What the budget did for Cyclists...

Actually the budget did ok for cyclists, they knocked 1p off which was added on therefore keeping prices high, now if only he had kept the 5p or whatever it was increase that would have driven a few more people off the roads making more space for cyclists and increasing safety.

What the budget did for Cyclists...

at least they would have some sort of cover which a growing number haven't nowadays. We are funding them anyway at the moment...it would probably work out cheaper. Oh i forgot to say, 17-20 limited to max 1000cc and 50mph 20-23 limited to max 1200cc and 60mph 23-25 limited to max 1300cc...

What the budget did for Cyclists...

how about abolishing car insurance and putting extra on fuel. Enough to give you a basic 3rd party insurance then everyone is covered. If you want to top up your insurance to fully comp then you pay more to insurance company but this has to be be capped at a lot lower level than we currently...

    23 miles for a sandwich...

i think thats pretty good for an 'S',They only quote up ton 50 with the 18a....One question though,i know the 'S' has upgraded brakes and gears but if you are reducing the motor gear why didn't you get an Agattu and change the motor gear to 11t or 12t and fit a new hub gear like mine.A lot...
