    More ebike woes

Yes, it was spanking clean that morning I left for work. An hour later and it was plastered in mud....so it was like that when I stopped at the bike shop on my way home when the problems started, so not much I could do to hide the embarrassment of the muck at the time ;) As a rule it always...

    Oxygen E mate MTB13AH

Thanks Warwick Definitely something I will be considering. Will trey and find somewhere reasonably local to try out before spending. I just looked at the one in the classified section....sounds like a good deal, but I cant spend the money just yet as we are putting the last bits of our house...

Is it possible that the paint damage on the stem is caused by cable rub? Maybe I missed it before, and started looking for things after it came back from the shop

Well, Devereaux Cycles Lymm What can I say. They deleted my review, after they had posted some interesting replies to mine, which they deleted immediately after posting, calling me a liar about the damage. I have screenshots. To cap it all, the day after I also found paintwork damage around...

    Oxygen E mate MTB13AH

Impressive :) I like the look and sound of the spec, Im no expert in components, but it looks a bit better than what I have on mine, and hydraulic brakes. Not quite sure what I would do with all those gears though ;) I cant actually find that one for sale anywhere now, it looks like it may...

    Pedalling Dreams: The Raleigh Story

Sounds like an impressive bike! Do you have any idea how much battery you used to do those 11.7 miles at that speed?

Ongoing reliability of Kalkhoff/Focus Impulse 2 motors

I would happily test one out for 4 weeks, Im sure my daily commute would be a very good test of its capability ;)

It does look good, although I dont need one that goes that fast really...but it would make the commute even quicker ;) For me it would depend on the insurance cost. I could only hope that it would be nothing like paying the ridiculous some of money for car insurance on a car I hardly use but...

Just watched the video, very helpful thanks. Have to think that a hub motor is best for my needs really. Found this one too, all about direct drive or geared motors as a few people have mentioned them and it confused me! Very helpful, so now I know what everyone means when they say mine is a...

Thanks Woosh. Im probably going to end up confusin myself over all these options! I hadnt thought about that one. Mainly because I am doing 15 miles each way at the moment, running the bike in 250watt mode and it just gets me to work on mostly level 5. So feel in a way, Im wasting the extra...

Two new Woosh bikes are on the way

Thanks Woosh. I know you cant comment on what I was getting at, probably not thee place to ask the question....but 10% would take it up to 17ish so not too far off where Id be hoping to get I like both bikes, although maybe a combination of the two would suit me. The narrower tyres of the MTB...

Cheers Martyn Should have said my current ebike has rear 1000 watt motor so know where you are coming from. Luckily I've not had a puncture in the last 9 months. ....Either down to sliming them or good luck! I've just swapped to marathon tyres with Kevlar... Really don't want a rear puncture...

Yes, thats something else to consider then :) Just reading through the latest posts, it just seems the right way to go would be with a chain drive? I like the idea of being able to change the tyre without all the excess weight of the motor. Quite happy to go with over 250 watts if needed to...

Ive been e-biking for about 10 months now, and gone through 3 bikes. Anyone who has read some of my posts will see that its not quite been plain sailing. Anyway, after learning quite a bit about how they work, and now I know a bit clearer what I need from the bike, I am thinking about building...

    More ebike woes

I can believe that, and wondered if that was there reason for saying it was a difficult bike to work on. Ive cracked the back wheel removal now, done it a few times swapping tyres over in the hope that if i get a puncture i can get it done at the roadside....I can changed a tyre in about 15...
