Big fella, first bie sub £1500....

Well, I belive there is a way to do this with some Chinese system. And I've done it and belive it to be legal. But its proper DIY and come with risks of frying controllers or motors or both However, for interest I do via a booster battery 1. Splicing a connector into the power to the...

    What to choose

Only that it was not what was actually asked SW. He didn't ask for speed or a lesson on the law. Just to be sweat free for work A fast, dongled bosch is not the answer for that requirement in my view. Hence the cadence vs torque sensor info I wanted to give. You also have assumed what my...

    What to choose

Then start your own dedicated SW destrict /dongle thread please fella. It isn't helpful to repeat in every thread. Especially when is not the question asked

    What to choose

Please SW can you keep the legal vs illegal debate to the threads dedicated to it. OP needs to know it exists but more crucial is a useful bike at a sensible price that meets requirements. In this instance I'm not really sure you are helping the OP

Are you, in fact, Jeremy Clarkson's son?! :)

    What to choose

Thats a lovely bike SW but removing the speed limit doesn't stop it being a torque sensor bike at its heart. Sweat free commuting is done with cadence not torque sensors (plus speed limit removal is llegal for the OP info but very unlikely to ever get caught or prosecuted - please see the...

    Battery disposal

I thought this was intersting. I'm well aware of the sometimes posted - run them to zero, stick in bucket of water, possible nail though (lipo particularly) then take to recycling centre But maybe just freezing skips several steps? https://newatlas.com/energy/freezing-faulty-ev-batteries/

    What to choose

Also your budget is great, you prob don't need to spend that much for your use though. Don't forget for commuting you ll need to buy buy decent gear (jackets, over trousers, lights and so forth). Doesn't need to be stupid money but just factored in. I have given my thoughts on best budget vs...

    What to choose

I can't say I have any knowledge of the real world difference between those motors What I can say, from your intended use at any rate, is either will do job just fine. The bike it is actually attached to will make a vastly bigger difference One large thing to say, apologies if you know...

Help! Scott Sub Cross eRide 30 Mens Electric Hybrid Bike - thoughts?

Um, what price, what use, what range do you need, do you care about fixing yourself or being stuck in Boschs non user reparable world, plus their battery prices. What I'm saying is that your post gives near zero useful info really. What saddle any bike has matters not one jot. Easily...

    Hailong Xl screw size

There is a forum member who is given batteries to test by a oem manufacturer. The BMS the system uses does a CAN handshake thing so it useless to me. Once he is finished doing whatever he does he is left with batteries which he is not required to return and has no personal use for. Main point...

Battery and charge connectors for case

Agree on this totally. I've been burned with rubbish fakes from ebay, a few moments touch with a soldering iron to the metal pins and the plastic melted! I buy from HK too now

Mech discs are invariablely poor. I had set of tekro mech on my hybrid. Hated them. Set of cheap shimano hydro changed the bike. And never need faffing with either Just get hydraulic brakes and a hydraulic switch if you find them useful
