    building a street legal ebike

I would buy the motor on its own as their 16 rims might be different diameter than the one Mezzo. That also saves quite a bit of shipping. Building wheel is not rocket science so you should be ok too. If you have decided to get them maybe you can list them here we could help you to have a look

    building a street legal ebike

For me, Q100 rear motor is a good for your case. Just double check the width of the rear axis which could fit the motor (135mm). If you can have a look the bmsbattery website that would help you to decide what to get.

    building a street legal ebike

The kit you posted is not ideal. It will be very difficult to lace spokes on 16 wheel with this motor. The motor is just too big giving not much clearance to lace the spokes. Also, it looks very heavy and not stealth. (correct me if I am wrong) 1) cheap but not ideal for folder like mezzo 2) If...

    increasing battery capacity

Your light battery should have a small bms to charge the 4 cells. You might need a new bms to charge more cells at the same time or you can get a balance charger to balance charging every time. Also, you need to check the max amp out of the cells you have. Just make sure don't go over it.

How much extra Volts can a controller take?

Probably not ok as most 36v controllers are using 50v capacitors. If you use 48v controller would be fine as it uses 60v cap

    Overclockers Dream

Someone wrote a review at CRC saying "This motor has 455RPM from 50v power supply (approx. Kv=9), which give us around 30km/h in 20 inch rim under load. Come without second part of connector, so be ready to cut it and solder the new one, compatible with your controller." Identify yourself :D Pat
