    great ideas for ebikers

I had a fold out 25w panel when I went travelling about a decade ago. About the size of a thin paperback folded and a broad sheet newspaper unfolded. It was perfect for charging ipod, phone and my camera aa cells Sadly we need huge capacity batteries by comparison and use them up far quicker

    great ideas for ebikers

Solar panels have been discussed quite a bit before and in detail Even with perfect weather you need a very large suface area to be any practical use at all . Far larger than you can wear And this is before you get into any proper technical challenges (or cost versus simply carrying more...

    great ideas for ebikers

Absolutely I'd have thought .Sounds intriguing If you are actually trading then you are right, that's different I've seen quite a few ideas over my years on.... I'll be honest and say most were not great. Quite often because the supposed unique selling point was no way enough to justify the...

    Leaving battery on bike

Best to keep batteries out of damp and temperature changes sheds have Also the battery is likely the single most expensive component on the bike! I'd keep it indoors and off the bike.

My frame has died and I need to replace it. However, on one bikes have long stopped making the Pompetamine. Many months of ebay searching has been fruitless. I'm not mechanically technical enough to know which other frames would do the job and take ALL my components Can anyone help ...

    500W e-bike or road bike?

At 60kg you are more featherweight than my 65 Why do you think you need 500w ? For reference the fastest bike I had was an overvolted 350w hub . very, very closely followed by a 250w crank drive Torque wise - fastest off the mark was the 250w hub followed by 250w crank. The only 500w I ever...

Vertical battery and bottle on down tube: why is it uncommon?

I prefer downtube batteries both in looks and in keeping a normal bike geometry However, for me, a disadvantage is a heavy high capacity downtube battery can really stress the frame lugs. One minor crash and the battery rips out the lugs and damaged the frame. I now carry my mtb battery in a...

    sods law

Can't really argue with that.....but I'm gonna ;) My alfine took 7 years of daily abuse in all weathers, never serviced , kept in damp shed by the seaside (air corrodes everything ) Cost me 90 quid to replace with a new hub Rolhoff are mega bucks for arguably rather limited extra reliability...
