Looking for a road/gravel eBike up to £3,000

The Boardman is the cheapest bike with the Fazua motor. Remember, you can get 10% off at Halfords if you are a member of Cycling UK. If you have the money, I really like the look of the Cairn and also Kinesis do a couple of models for a bit more again. Alternative light weight bikes usually...

    Wisper 705 SEL

I wouldn’t think it’s a motor issue. Probably how the battery communicates with the controller. My wife has a similar aged Wisper. We had to have a new controller and display a while back, the motor is still going strong after several thousand miles. Have you contacted Wisper customer support?

Where did you get the new battery? Are you sure about it specifications?

Looking for advise and helpful opinions.

Synapse Neo looks good but you might also want to take a look at some of the bikes with the Fazua motor. An extra battery costs about £400 if additional range was required. The system is fitted to a number a nice looking road bikes. The cheapest bike with this Motor is the Boardman Hyb...

    battery replacement

50 cycles is poor, how old is it? It would be cheaper to have it re-celled by Jimmy at Insat International. You will find lots of posts about him on the forum. If you take photos of the battery and send it to him he will be able to give you a quote.

    Hilly commuting with an ALP

Welcome to the forum. I think the general opinion seems to be the ALPS motor is the better one for commuting. Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can try it properly for yourself.

Best value folding e-bike for 4 mile round trip with long, medium gradient

Is the Rambletta any lighter or does it fold any smaller with the rigid fork? Seriously considering getting one (for my wife), but which would be better? What is the gearing like, small wheeled bikes often tend to spin out earlier than I would like. I think you mentioned you would have disc...

Dahon Ciao (or similar Step-thru folding bike) conversion

Do you have any images of the frog type battery mounted on the luggage block? Is the controller part of the ‘battery’ in this set up? Do you have weights for the components? (I may have missed this elsewhere). Thanks.

Dahon Ciao (or similar Step-thru folding bike) conversion

If buying used, be aware that Brompton changed their bottom bracket / cranks / chainwheel set up a while ago (for the better). Older models have little room to fit PAS magnetic ring but there is ample space on new models. I’m not sure when this change took place.

    Woosh or Raleigh?

I think I might be inclined to go for mid motor. Cube are keenest price generally. Alternative might be to get a Woosh mid motor kit fitted to a bike of your choosing.

Woosh are planning a Brompton kit. Maybe a bit delayed by covid-19.

I have a Swytch kit on a Brompton that I’m quite happy with. The new ones (if they’re available now) are even smaller / lighter. I had a long wait for mine, around 6 months but that was a while ago now.

Best accessories for new bike commuter

Planet X is a good place for decent priced stuff. Carnac Waterproof Crab Hand Winter Gloves are very good. They often have great value deals on.

Have you seen these? http://www.kudoscycles.com/product_info.php?cPath=1&products_id=350 Might not be as nice a ride but light and cheap.

    Another newbie question

All decent bikes. You might also consider Orbea Gain and Ribble bikes with lightweight Bikemotion rear hub. Can’t beat Woosh for price. I would suggest trying out a couple of bikes, one with with a Bosch mid-drive and one with a lightweight rear hub to compare the feel and assist provided. Cube...
