    Woosh Battery for Woosh Petite?

You may be lucky and find an exact case/connector match (polarity may be an issue) but cell and assembly quality will be an unknown. Jimmy's price may seem high but the cell quality will be good (uses named cells) and his assembly methodology is high quality using copper strips rather than...

    Interesting New French Bike

It doesn't look like one for the garden shed tinkerers does it? Too much tech complication to get in the way and do things you didn't ask for or not do what you need. I'll stick to my slightly brutal Ezee ta. I turn the pedals - it goes, what's not to like?

Any links for cheap but reliable 48v battery over 12ah

What you have bought is a direct drive motor, they are notoriously power hungry and inefficient. Care is needed with battery choice. Look at the maximum current rating marked on the controller. Your battery needs to be able to deliver at least this amount, if not a little more. So, you may...

    Software updates.

Looks like the controller is in the black bit on the front of the battery. It'll be pretty tight in there but doable. But first, you have the option of buying a new battery c/w rack, or getting the present one re-celled to your spec. Can recommend a UK re-celling service but not a French one...

    Software updates.

The handlebar display is just that, a display only. It allows you to tell the controller what you want. The controller, which will be elsewhere, is the thing that handles the heavy current and actually controls the pulses to the motor. Controllers and displays work as linked and matched pairs...

Thanks SW, that's given me a hilarious start to my Saturday morning.

Hi Spiffy, welcome to the world of the e-bike grin:D May your miles be long and trouble free.

    Software updates.

With a ten year old 24v battery I'm not suprised she's slow and suffering cutouts. The motor is not tethered to a specific voltage. So, rather than go through the pain, expense and long learning curve of making your own battery, here's a slightly different project. Buy a 36v battery, controller...

    Advise approaching Retiring from work

Just seen your post about motorbikes. Made me wonder if there are local kids who could benefit from engagement and education on bikes in general?

    Advise approaching Retiring from work

I think that feeling useful is the main thing, either to someone else or to society in general. In my case, I've been self employed for 20 years as an electrician/carpenter with plumbing skills which can be in demand. Work has dropped off because of covid and the fact that I'm not chasing it...

    Which conversion kit?

The bike in my avatar is front hub, an Ezee, not noted for their subtle control system. I ride the steep hills of west Wales lanes, often narrow, gritty and/or mossy. I have never (in some 9k miles) had full wheel spin. Don't want to mislead you, I do get wheel scrub on very steep loose...

    Powerbikes Are Hiring!

You see, all this is part of the reason I've been self employed for the last 25 years. I decide on my hourly rate, get it wrong and I don't get work. Funny thing is that doesn't neccesarily mean too high, you can be too low - then people think you're no good. Main thing are, I keep below the...

Help! Hi,from manchester, i have a problem with my cyclamatic e bike Rear wheel

The 'dish'. The spokes on the drive side of the wheel are slightly shorter than the spokes on the none drive side. This allows the hub to be off centre in the frame (to give gears clusters the room to fit) whilst the rim is centre to the frame. This is the dish of the wheel. Tighteming each...

Woosh My first build (inc pics)

Charge it before your next ride. Li-ion batteries are OK with partial charges and you won't suffer from range anxiety.

    What to try and buy?

The 'ready built' mid-drive bikes see, to me, to all be over complicated and over priced. Because of comms between battery, controller and motor, it is impossible to do self repairs and dealers are limited to diagnostic software only. The bike or motor then has to be returned to the...

Help! Disaster, Hub motor failed, discontinued!

As Vfr says' it could be electrical. A couple of years ago I had intermittant vibration and nasty grinding noise that was so bad I could feel it through the handlebars (front hub). I was convinced it was lack of grease on the gearing, stripped the motor twice thinking I hadn't done it properly...

    Astra Zenaca Jab.

Does anyone have a pre-existing immunity/anti-bodies to Covid 19.? No. It is a nouvelle virus. Do people have anti bodies post vaccine? Yes. Whilst not stopping them getting infected, the immune system is preprepared so the bodies reaction is less severe. Has anyone died from covid 19...

    Help! Melted Motor Wires

That looks like long term heat damage that you happened to find at the same time. Bullit connectors are notoriously bad for high current applications. The MT6o's should be much better. Can't comment on whether the controllers gone or not. Before re-powering, disconnect the broken throttle...

    Good Installation of Torque Arms?

I agree, turn the motor round so the cable forms a drip loop. At first it looks a bit odd, but just think how water runs down something like a cable, and adheres to it. Droplets will only fall off at the bottom of the drip loop, stopping them getting inside the motor.

    Comfort V Weight penalty

Don't see the point of going lightweight if it's so uncomfortable it inhibits you from riding or using the bike. It's an e-bike - they're heavy but you'll still get up that hill easier than a roady.
