Suggestions for Cycle Route Planner ?

Me too. I have a Carradice handlebar bag that has a kind of polypocket clip on top. Takes a folded map which generally displays the area you need (unless you're Mathewslack on one of his sojourns). Does mean I have to stop and put on my glasses to read it, but I'd have to do that with a phone...

    3 dead in fire

Looks like once again a tradegy caused by a battery left unattended on charge over night. I wonder if there will be anything revealed about the type/make of bike, or indeed if it was actually a scooter? My own bikes are in a downstairs room which is under my bedroom. However I only ever charge...

How to AVOID Neck Pain when Cycling

How to avoid neck pain? Don't ride a bike ! It can be reduced, however, by: Not having drop bars. Raising the bar centre up to or higher than the saddle nose. Installing swept back bars that incorporate a rise. (Helps with wrist pain too). All this is dreadful for aerodynamics but, hey, we ride...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Tesla Power walls do exactly that. Monitor mains and do an auto switch over. I guess the need for an earth rod is belt and braces in case the grid earth connection to the house is disconnected during line work. Not likely but possible. Installing a rod is no problem and used to be the norm...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Might be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here, but this is what I've gleaned. The solar panel inverter has to see a 50hz signal and voltage before allowing the P.V.'s to pass power to the grid. So if mains goes down, no solar generation to prevent back emf being fed onto the grid when...

No more derailleurs? The Pinion Motor Gearbox Unit and Bafang made a Torque Sensing BBSHD!

Great ! Lets make a pedelec (cheap form of mass transport) that's full of proprietory, unrepairable parts and increase the fault liability while we're at it. Yeah, that's the way to go ! What happened to garden shed maintenance. Over the weekend, I showed my daughter and son in law how to take...

    Hello!

Hello Mate, FYI, this is a pedelecs forum whose participants, for the most part, ride assisted bikes conforming to e.u. and British law. You won't be aware that there have been three deaths , in the last few weeks, involving under aged boys riding high speed illegal motorbikes. So it's a bit of...

Conversion kit to make an e bike.

Top bike kit have all the gear you need, including KT controllers. You do have to put the list together yourself rather than a kit ready to go as supplied by Whoosh. They've had a few mentions on the forum though I've not yet used them myself. They also have an Aliexpress site as well as their...

    Cycle carrier

Check that the hatch on your car is actually metal, some are composite/plastic and not suitable to hang a rack on.

    Tyre pressures

Think I'm on my 3rd Marathon plus on my front hub. One was so worn the blue was showing through, didn't puncture though. I run them at around 55 and, as you say, the centre goes bald first.

    250Watt whats it really

I thought I had some sort of handle on this, but now I'm thoroughly confused. Thanks Linfitter ! My Ezee kit, bought in 2014, has no markings on the front hub. No idea what the controller rating is as there's no markings on the outer case. It'll spin to 19mph on the stand and does not cut out...

Help! Controller and display upgrade recommendations.

Think we're going to need more info/pictures. What's the motor, what plug does it have? What battery capacity? What's it's maximum current? What is the existing controller? Great to hear someones cycling to school. However, given recent events I hope your lad is over 14 and the bike is within...

    790 Display Problem

Generally displays and controllers are bought as a matched pair, otherwise problems, such as you are having, ensue.

    Another solar trailer tall tale

Once again, thankyou for the many stunning views. I had suggested the 500 in our roof top camper + bikes to my wife. But sadly she suffers horrendously from bites, so I don't think I'm going to get to see them for myself. Just one thing, as a Welsh resident, where's all the sheep?

    Smart Motion

How old is the battery? Has it been used regularly? Has it been charged regularly? Doesn't matter how many miles it's done, how old it is is more improtant.

    Front hub motor cable position.

Definitely pointing down to form a drip loop. Reason being, if the cable enters the axle from the top then water runs, unseen, into the axle and tracks along the cable into the motor itself. This then causes all sorts of rust problems. I know the shorter route looks tidier but it will bite you...

    Help! Plug problems

If you can post a picture of the controller, with it's various leads, and it's name/model, some one will be able to help you.

Any suggestions on which carrier/rack for transporting your Ebike?

I've never found a truly sturdy strap on and electrics are far too heavy to lift onto the roff, even with the battery removed.

    Another solar trailer tall tale

I do like a good ferry, never seen one like that though. I remember, as a lad, taking the Servern ferry crossing on a return trip to Birmingham from Devon with my parents. I think my dad did it 'cos he knew I liked ferries. This one had a turntable built into the deck. The crossing was quite...
