    Brexit, for once some facts.

Seems we are in broad agreement. Most of May's statement is, as you say, routine political rhetoric and largely meaningless. About the only nailed on meaningful phrase is 'Brexit means Brexit'.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

At some point, the leave deniers will have to accept that not every statement can be properly dismissed as meaningless. What you mean is it's a statement you don't like, or at least disagree with. Had May said 'we need a rethink', the leave deniers would seize on it as proof we will remain...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

May is quite clear about leaving in her welcoming email to Tory supporters. "Brexit means Brexit," she says. Full text: I am honoured and humbled to have been chosen by the Conservative Party to become its leader. I would like to pay tribute to the other candidates during the election...

    Electric folding bike

An obvious option would be to convert your Brompton. The Nano kit is very neat, but expensive for what it is. A 36 mile round trip is at the upper end of the range for a 10/11ah battery, but should be OK if the route is fairly flat and you don't need to use full assistance...

    Raising the bar

It should be fine, but it's worth pointing out for others reading the thread those adjustable stems are not suitable for proper mountain biking where the handlebars are used as leverage, rather than just for gentle steering.

Double pinion kit for bosch emtb

Could be, although presumably the inner ring on Phil's bike is seated in the same place as the original single ring.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

By Wednesday we will have replaced a prime minister who was the leading light of the remain campaign with a prime minister who has some Euro-sceptic credentials and was at best a luke-warm remainer, but mostly silent. Crucially, Mrs May also knows the result of the referendum in advance of...

Double pinion kit for bosch emtb

Is the side of the chain rubbing on the bigger ring? Also bear in mind there is a surprisingly large amount of twisting force on the bottom bracket when you are pedalling. So what happens when you spin the pedals on the workstand may not be what happens when you are riding the bike.

    Raising the bar

Strictly, those adjustable stems shouldn't be used almost vertical. The 0-60 markings on the side indicate the maximum angle. Looks to me as if you have it slightly outside its comfort zone. Shouldn't be a problem, provided you only ride on road and cycle paths. A stem riser is a better job...

Andrea Leadsom quits the PM contest. RobF....looks like your gal was scared of the dark! Your only Brexit supporter seems to also have jumped ship, the bad ship Brexit sails off into oblivion with nobody at the helm. May is unopposed, can she replace Cameron earlier than intended? KudosDave...

Less arrogance? That's another comical one coming from you. Each of your many and over-long posts on this thread have been nothing more than a patronising lecture delivered from a standpoint of 'I know best and you are all stupid'. Of course, neither is true, but I admire you determination to...

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

I suspect the anti-immigration vote may have been over estimated, not least because, like you, I think the major immigration concern relates to immigrants from outside the EU. Having said that, a common sense view would be that leaving the EU is a reasonable first step to give us greater...

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

Are you seriously trying to suggest people would have voted differently had they known the vote was only advisory? "I think we should stay in, but as it's only advisory I'm going to vote out for a laugh."

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

The percentages are more irrelevant now than they were before, if that's possible. Preparations to leave are already being made, and we are already a dead man walking in Europe, having relinquished key posts and withdrawn key personnel. For good or ill, it's over.

If you voted IN then here's a second chance for common sense

Dave, I'm surprised to the point of finding it hard to believe you didn't know the referendum decision was only advisory. As a remainer, you seem to be clinging to the notion leaving will not be carried through. It's a forlorn hope. The politicians have been reminded the electorate is...

Haibike with Bosch Perfomance line keeps turning itself off

I have a couple of Bosch bikes and the only couple of glitches I've had have been related to dampness on the display connections. Your plan to switch to Intuvia looks a good first step.

Which bike is right for me?

The quoted weight is a notional maximum - being under just means the bike will pull stronger for you than for a heavier rider. The electric bits don't need servicing, a bit like any other electrical gadget such as a dvd player. The bike bits are cheap and cheerful, but standard, so you or any...
