    Solar trailer short trips

Its been very interesting reading about your trips, very impressive and admire your attention to detail in your trailer/bike design and your reports I can't help feeling there's much more to come from you in the design department as no doubt solar technology becomes more efficient in the same...

    Bafang controller replacement help please

I think the image depicts the new style vs the old style controller, they are a different shape. I do vaguely remember some talk about 48v controllers on a 36v on endless sphere forum, might be worth looking there I suspect though you'll need to pair it with a 48v battery...

Battery at 50% yet power is switching off

I'm using a bafang 500c display and it never shows above 41.8v...dunno where I got the idea only 42v max voltage from for a 36v battery

Battery at 50% yet power is switching off

maybe a moot point but you say when fully charged your battery reads 43v ? I thought the maximum is 42v from a 36v battery...? Mine from new have never read more than 41.something when charged

    BBS01B - Whyte Portobello V3

I've just remembered, when I previously tried this it was on my original older BBS01b which didn't have the dedicated gear sensor lead in the motor, so therefore I had the gear sensor plugged into one of the brake cutoff connectors... I wonder if I try this on my newer motor that has the gear...

Battery at 50% yet power is switching off

Parameter C12 min voltage setting, could it be the controller is set to 48v and where the default cutoff is 40v but with a setting of -2v taking it to 38v? https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1199188/Dillenger-Kt-Lcd3.html?page=28

    My Pendleton Somerby

One look at the Somerby shows it's a sit up and ride easy sedate peddler, not for speed merchants like yourself. Try the Boardman ebikes with the lower power motors and bigger chainsets. Halfords offer free test rides, makes sense to try before you buy... And yes, you can replace the chainset...

    BBS01B - Whyte Portobello V3

Thanks guerney, I will look to reinstate the gear sensor and try again with your settings. I don't remember changing any settings for this from default, so as you have, that could be the difference. Cheers

    BBS01B - Whyte Portobello V3

I found it most noticeable (power lag when gear sensor installed) on hills when the assistance is or feels greater. I think there is a delay (start delay setting?) which determines at what point in the pedal revolution or time the motor kicks in. Setting this too low can result in a twitchy...

    BBS01B - Whyte Portobello V3

one of the tidiest bafang mid drive conversions I've seen, nice one. Reprogramming will transform the power delivery when you get the cable. I tried the gear sensor, I couldn't get on with the power lag when changing gear so ditched it. I can get a new cassette and chain for 30 quid so ain't...

    BBSO1B 36V 500W controller?

I run my 36v 250W BBS01b at 15a, and with a 42t front and 11-40t rear cassette I can climb everything I have tried albeit slowly on some very steep hills, but I put into the top 40T 1st gear and spin away I use to run a 44t front and 11-36t rear and it would struggle a little with the very...

    Any problem solved.

While I agree that 98/99% of the population will not consider using a bike as a means of daily transport/commuting, those that do do so much more easily on an ebike over a normal bike, especially in the winter. I can vouch for that, daily commute to work for about 5 years now in all weathers. We...
