What are the most budget-friendly e-bike options in the UK? Can you recommend any brands or local stores?

Most budget friendly and best value for money probably would be DIY conversion. Prices of motors and batteries are somehow going down. I have never seen them so low before.

Woosh starts shipping Tongsheng TSDZ8 with 250W label

Update Change of routine. Now 90% of time I use first level of assistance on flattish terrain. Second level is reserved for steep hills. Suspension seatpost changed to rigid one. Comfort saddle to athletic. All pieces falling into places. Bike it is as it should be. Like TSDZ8 even more

    Pedelec Nirvana

I am looing around for a new bike for my daughter. I can't see anything nice for her, but I have seen many good and cheap bikes for adults on Facebook. I strongly suggest you go for your dream bike.

I don't assume. I have panniers like yours.

    Hiplok problems

I have few D-locks, but mostly use chain as it is long enough to secure few bikes and easy to transport when wrapped around seatpost. I don't think D-locks rattling in pannier bag is a good idea - not for me anyway.

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

You have two bikes. In unlikely scenario when something go wrong, you can use one and take another to mechanic later. It is easy when you have right tools. What you need is a quick link with you all the time. Anticipate what can go wrong on a trip like that and take stuff with you to quick fix...

    Can you repair your bike?

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

Sorry to hear that. Strange policy they have. You are a cycling enthusiast now Saracen. You must learn how to do some basic maintenance. Probably most of what you asked is not really needed. Mechanic will just take free money. Why would you need cables changed?

    Wisper 806

54Vx15A=810W of input power. That is a lot. Eventually buy a powerful 48V hub motor.

    Wisper 806

I meant more powerful motor. Not necessarily illegal. You can buy 3x more powerful motor from Woosh witch is still legal.

    Wisper 806

If I were you I would just buy more powerful motor. From Woosh if you want to be on legal side or cheaper from PSW. Did you climb slowly? You might have overheated it.

    Wisper 806

Did you have any reliability problems with your TSDZ2? Does your bike have problems with climbing hills?

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

You should have asked them. It is easy to change brake pads. Watch some YouTube tutorials and do it yourself.

Bafang reliability (my experience - OVERWHLMINGLY POSITIVE!)

That makes little sense as legal assisted speed limit is 25m/h It is continuous rated power as specified by manufacturer to be precise or rated power for short. If you say continuous 250W, people can come to wrong conclusions and think motor is providing 250W all the time - which is not true.

    Pendalton e bike battery

How old is the battery? Maybe instead of resuscitation it would make more sense just to buy a new one? Prices of batteries are now at lowest level I have seen. Is Pendleton using generic battery or proprietary?
