    Brexit, for once some facts.

No, I think that and the assistance given to the people trafficking gangs just about covers all the wrongdoing. The activity by the volunteers has been punished, so let’s sit back and wait for the management heads to roll for their part in the trafficking.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Continuing the Christmas spirit, I’ve just cancelled my RNLI direct debit after learning that they have become involved in people trafficking. I’m saddened and disappointed by the news that they have teamed up with criminal gangs to smuggle illegal immigrants into the U.K. The senior...

Labour MP Kate Osamor lives in a £750,000 council house along with her drug scum son Ishmael. He is a former councillor who resigned after being convicted of drugs offences. She earns £77,379 as an MP while the convicted drug dealing son earns £43,835 from the public purse as she continues to...

You are right. The police and the media have behaved very badly throughout this incident. These two people are innocent until a court says otherwise, just like we would want to be viewed. I stated in another thread that the filth have done a Cliff Richard job and if they are not proven to be...

Absolutely right. How do they know that Meghan & Kate won’t be spending Christmas Day together? This is just right wing BS propaganda, cynically calculated to stir up facist activity. I hate the Daily Mail, and again I agree with you, they should take them to court and seek damages.

    Getting rid of drones

There is money to be made by selling drones and money is king. Money is far more important than any other issue. Well at least it is in the UK. I agree with you regarding the police. In general, the rank & file coppers are doing their best, but it’s beyond comprehension how some of the senior...

    Getting rid of drones

No good can come out of this. The fools have needlessly publicised how easy it is to disrupt a major U.K. international airport and bring our air transport to its knees. If undesirables didn’t realise just how easy it was to accomplish this, they certainly do now. The unbelievable aspect is...

    Getting rid of drones

I’ve just read the update regarding the likelihood that there never was a UAV over Gatwick. Recalling the image of Chief Super Nintendo Cockwomble of Susexshire Constabulary facing the camera and offering a stern warning to the phantom UAV pilot is particularly humorous, I can’t stop laughing...

Yes and it’s easy to mistakenly assume that just because a word or phrase is in common use in a particular environment, that a wider audience will understand its meaning.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Sorry, snaf is a term we used to use at work for undesirable people. Rowdy families, pi$$ed slappers on hen parties, Primark clad, swearing lads on the stag do to Prague, that sort of thing. All of it snaf.

I agree entirely. The same for the police and other public services, they are not short of money, they are starved of managerial talent. The waste which goes on is sickening and no one seems to be held accountable.

I am hearing that the “army of volunteers” who are going to support the NHS over the winter period is growing by the day. What if they are all called Chester Chester and want to work in the paediatric department? Then what? Who is going to be carrying out the thorough checks on this Army? I...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Rolls Royce never used chickens during my time there. The task was to give the engine the easiest test conditions possible within the rules. Even with 8 x soft ducklings, power output post bird strike was close to the minimum permissible. Chickens, especially frozen ones would have caused the...

They were never frozen. Killed and fired before rigorous mortice set in. Less damage caused when they are soft and subtle.

That is a screen for noise testing on number 11 test bed at Rolls Royce Hucknall. The whole engine stand lifts and turns to face into wind. I worked on the design of the turning mechanism as a fresh graduate in the 1980s. The screen isn’t intended for flight. It’s purely to screen out fan...

We nicked the principal off Farnborough. Our birds were placed in a sabot which was arrested at the end of the barrel, leaving the bird to continue into the engine. The sabots had a collapsible base which reduced the acceleration forces on the duckling and prevented them being crushed.

In a previous life I used to be involved in the flight certification testing of new engine types for Rolls Royce. Amongst other things, demonstrating that the engine could cope with 8 bird ingestion was part of the process. We used a cannon to fire them in at 180 knots. The rules stated “birds”...
