Gocycle G1 battery myth : Ni Mh vs lithium

Ni-cad's are the ones that have a memory and need fully discharging. Nimh don't need to be fully discharged

    SRAM eMTB specific drivetrain launched

I've fancied a nexus 8 to replace my 9spd derailleur for well over a year now but having two pr's of wheels ( knobblys & slicks) both with cassettes, it would mean either buying two new hubs or just sticking with one type of tyre. :( Saying that, now I think of it, selling a pr of 29"er...

Pedelecs frum makes me feel sick

Sad to see you go but understandable. This forum was usually my first port of call of an evening, interesting topics and conversations, now it's the last forum I visit and that's only out of habit. I wouldn't miss it if it wasn't here.:(

Range on a New 500mAh Bosch

I assume you haven't gotten your figures from actually riding the bike and your assuming the displayed mileage to be correct. Your bikes computer estimates the remaining mileage based on your riding style and the most recent usage. Worst case. your riding up a long step hill on max assist, the...

    Breaking Bad

Done bb, ordered Saul and I'm now getting hooked on Jack Irish on The fox network Nearly forgot to recommend The first season of Fargo with Billy Bob Thornton & Martin freeman. The second season was OK on its own but disappointing after watching the first.

    Ergon GP1 Handlebar Grips

Me too, I have the same ones on my Pedelec and bontrager's on my fully human powered bike. The bontrager's do move a little but as I'm a perpetual tinkerer I'm reluctant to glue them on

    Best bike for....

Well said mr Dave sir. I read a lot more on here than I post for that very reason. I know what suits me but it doesn't follow that I know what's best for everyone else. It's the physically fit that haven't experienced the soul destroying pain that accompanies some conditions, that some times...

    Bike Lock

You could use a light cable extention in conjunction with your frame lock. When I had a bike with a frame lock I used a 6mm x1m long cable, just enough to loop around a lamppost and back to the lock. Here's a long 8mm version as an example...

    Avoiding canal or footpath conflict.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it's illegal to sell a bike without a bell. saying that, if fitted on a new bike a lot of bells would get taken off because there uncool and for children

    Avoiding canal or footpath conflict.

Nice idea but doesn't that mean your jingling all the time ? I'd find that most annoying. I've tried a few different warning gadgets but found that plebeians (sorry that should read pedestrians) not associating the noise with a bike ignore it. The last device I tried was a pp3 powered mega...

    Bike stand

The frame is slightly springy and the screw parts on the stand are hollow plastic, you pull the two screws apart just enough and they sit over the axle nuts or in my case the QR leaver and nut.

    Fat Bike

Regards the bikes and salt water i take it that the battery is likely to run into problems rather than the bike in general? As d8veh has pointed out, salt water and electricity don't mix well. Salt water is conductive, get it on your battery terminals and it so long & goodnight. I run RC trucks...

    Bike stand

I use one of these for cleaning & chain oiling etc. The only down side is the one I brought was just toutcing my 29" tyre so I had to tweek it a little to get my wheel to rotate. Cheap as sliced & fried potatos...

    Disappointed.....

Bike shops forget that for the individual buying and especialy picking up a new bike is an existing time and nothing dampens the experience like pore service, to them it's probably just another bike and no big deal. Your bike should have been pdi'd, air in tyres, gears and breaks checked...

    Water bottle

I don't like using the same bottle over and over especially as I add electrolytes. Yes I know I can wash it out but I just can't be asked. The 750ml Buxton bottled water comes with a sports cap and drops straight in a standard water bottle cage :cool...
