Certainly should not hapen with integrated batterys, I'd contact the seller and ask for a replacement.

I'm not familiar with your light but know that some lights can draw a little current when connected to the battery even if it's turned off. Best to Disconnect the battery when not in use, if the problem persists then you have a battery issue not the light.

A NCX seat post is the answer to a lot of people's back problems, myself included. Personally I have 2 and wouldn't ride a bike without one. It's a subject that crops up quite often so a forum search should give you an idea of there popularity.
