    Bosch ebike motor reliability

Bosch can't aford not to do somthing about this problem, once lost a good reputation for quality will take many years to recover, especialy now as the ebike market is expanding rapidly. Like d8veh said above about Kalkhoff, people don't think of a spesfic modle they just know Kalkhoffs are...

Best way to find and navigate off-road MTB routes

You can have the next best thing, a drone with a forward facing camera tracking you from above, sending real time images direct to your handlebar mounted phone. Simples

New Bosch drive Halfords Carrera bikes

o_O How many sons do you have  Seriously though I'm interested in how he gets on with the Bosch motor as its the new kid on the block. Halfords show them as available now but Cube bikes with that motor aren't available untill January (I'm not holding my breath on that date ;))

    Got a mouse...

A Simple thing often forgoten, try retightening you pedals. A almost tight pedal can creak randomly, back them off a half turn then do them up again. Worth a try ;)

New Bosch drive Halfords Carrera bikes

Built down to a budget, frame and components will be a little portly (23.9kg) Shaving a few grams here and there all add up to a noticeably lighter bike but as the kilos come off the pounds go on. The Cube even with its heavier 500 battery is 2 Kg lighter, also a few hundred pound heavier ;)

    Got a mouse...

OK so you hate bikes and this forum dose your head in, is this some sort of reverse way asking for help  Head bearings ? The part of your frame where the forks fit is caled the head & the forks turn on bearings, referred to as a head set. Main pivot bolt ? on a full suspension bike...

New Bosch drive Halfords Carrera bikes

Yes it lacs in the looks department but that's the all new Bosch gen 3 active line plus motor, supposedly not available until January. Atleast that's the way it is with the Cube I have on order. Although with discounts it's a good value no frills ride I wouldn't chose it over what I have on...

    Which bike maintenance stand?

I have a Lidl stand and although it takes the weight of my cube when centred, if I take a wheel off the bike is out of balance and the clamp head twists in its housing :( so now before removing a wheel I put somthing under the other wheel ( upside down bucket works ;)) This is not ideal but it...

Best way to find and navigate off-road MTB routes

Since it was mentioned earlier I've put Komoot on my iPad. Just for the sake of it I've been mapping rides before going out. So far it's known the percentage of tarmac, paved & gravel tracks per ride, elevation, distance etc. I'm impressed and think it would be even better if I had a smart phone...

    ebike law changes coming....

What's that you say, a trade member is lying to us punters  what about his reputation, can we ever trust him to tell the truth in the future  I probably over reacted, being gullible one of the short comings of being a genius ;)

    Rookie error? Decreased front sprocket

Excessive use of a decreaser may cause sprocket shrinkage ;) On a serious note,my Bosch/Cube dosent like running dry atall, I oil the chain atleast every 100miles

    ebike law changes coming....

I'd forgotten the topic of this thread  How will these potential changes effect 2018 sales, potential buyers knowing next years bike could be better. I'm in that boat, I have a perfectly good Bosch active cube and intended buying a gen3 active plus's bike in January but my present bike...

    ebike law changes coming....

That's all Fab and Groovy, but more & more I'm finding dumb a*s fekers meandering along the middle of a shared path drifting from side to side wearing full sized headphones whils looking down at there phone  they don't hear a bell (or a shout) and don't know I'm there untill they see my...

I need a tougher rear wheel...

Reading throu this post I'm curious about tyre pressures and how it effects your bike, what pressures do you run ? I think I remember somthing about over inflated tyres effecting spoke tension and increasing vibration.

    Where to get 160 cranks

Thanks for enlightening me. The internet is great for sourcing components but can get infuriating trying to find full specifications whilst mixing and matching parts, the "Q" factor being a good example. Better luck with your next choice

    Where to get 160 cranks

Don't fit how ? Bosch use ISIS Drive ( International Splined Interface Standard ) As the name implies ISIS is a global standard fitment so any ISIS crankarm should fit any ISIS bottom bracket.

    winter tyres

I use to switch between smart sams and big apples depending on conditions, I don't rember the Sam's as being noisy atall. As with all schwalbe tyres there's different levels of protection for each modle, I think the Smart Sam plus offer the best protection
