Puncture-proof tyres for mixed on/off-road bike

Thanks Eddie. Got a bit put off when it mentioned they tend to slip on harder ground, which is where I'm likely to use them most. I guess I'll just have to suck some and see what happens, maybe with less aggressive knbbly bits or something. I picked it up from Bristol earlier in the week and...

Yup, standard QR where it's needed ... they thought of things they didn;t even know they had to think about :D

    Breaking Bad

^^ The characters develop through the 1st Season. There are a few dips in momentum but once you're hooked ........... polished off the complete series in a month last Spring waiting for work to pick up !

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Never did have much faith in Bosch ... but then I've always been biased against them ! Looking forward to getting out riding again this Summer :)

Puncture-proof tyres for mixed on/off-road bike

I've finally decided to get a 'go-anywhere' (ish!) road bike for more flexibility this Summer - no electric mods (yet!) and going to see how I get on with it "unassisted". It's easily up to a decent cross bike in terms of spec and design without being race-oriented and is hopefully going...

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

You're a more tenacious man than I, Cwah .... after all that theft (can't stand thieving) I'd have moved out of London a long time ago !!! I know there's lots of work there, but all those people and so much petty crime is more than I could deal with nowadays, whatever else is on offer ! Sorry...

    indiegogo Storm bike

I do approve of the battery compartment ... apart from the fact it seems like a monumental waste of space ! I fitted a tad more in mine ;) ... but not for $600 :p I don't have the hinged door, but then with a 20Ah battery and charging socket I don't really need to swap it out !

Let's hope the British Bobby does not get as 'well informed as plod in the US'

If he'd been a she and had been stopped in Texas, would likely have been intimately searched at the side of the road by an opposite-sex officer too. Because seemingly they can and do. What a delightful society to live in ....

    Opinions on this bike please

^^ it seems OK, Eddie. I bought the Trek 2nd hand via e-Bay and converted it - am still using the original cassette / cranks and chain that came with the bike, having bankrupted myself at the time on the finest quality tools and accessories :D. Thankfully there's now a wee bit more in the piggy...

    Opinions on this bike please

Don't think I'd ever have got the double-throttle and switch on there without combi-shifters, to be honest ! Yes, the bike is still happily doing its thing and the electrics have given me no problems since the original build. I did have to replace a couple of spokes on the motor wheel, though...

    Opinions on this bike please

I have the Magura ones on my Kalkhoff. Mixed feelings about them but they do work. Still more prone to wheel locking up than hydraulic discs, though I think ?? Certainly felt that way anyway on one occasion, but maybe I didn't adjust them perfectly. Now they look familiar ;) I'm definitely...

    The Ultimate Road E-Bike

I wasn't especially drawn to Specialized in particular - mainly due to their inflated 'big brand' price tags and MAMIL associations .... but ... the combo of that particular bike ticks all my boxes - especially hydraulic disc brakes, ability to take CX tyres, less aggressive 'racing' geometry...

    The Ultimate Road E-Bike

I reckon it would be this : http://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/diverge-expert-carbon/34087/15diverge Fitted with this : http://www.vivax-assist.com/en/produkte/vivax-assist-4-0/vivax-assist_4-0.html I don't know if it would be compatible, but if it were, would be a total £5,800 price...

    Cleats on. MTB

They're great those boots - wore them all last Winter and still in very good nick. Wish I had time to ride more this year - every time I think I'm going to get out there I'm either hijacked with work, have to take the dog out or go get supplies ! Looking forward to next Spring when I may finally...

BH Emotion Neo Carbon 3500km update

Lots of Gloucestershire and Devon are the same. The roads are incredibly beaten up in some towns especially. I struggle to imagine where you could ride a true road bike for any distance round these parts.

E-bike Costs versus Public Transport - Update

Pretty much sums up the cost of public transport now ... the more important ones being your sanity, happiness and health ! I'm self-employed again and public transport would never work ... thing is, after a year without a car I'm still out going to all the places and doing all the things not...

Can i buy a 48v 20 aH BMC hub prebuilt bike from anywhere in the UK

Carrying 20Ah of power is the least of my worries - have not had any problems with that side of it on the self-build ;) .. it's what winds up on the back on the seaside outings which posed the real challenge !
