    EU Referendum Vote

I think Brexit will lead to the conservatives splitting into halves and a fresh new parliament led by Corbyn with or without the SNP. It's easy for a new goverment to say after a year of negociations that the cost of leaving had become too high.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I think that the Brexiters can always dream but will have second thoughts in the days following Brexit when they see the mountain they have to climb suddenly becomes real.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

it seems to me at times that this is much more about a fight between the two wings of the conservative party than an issue for a referendum. The last time the Tories had a big fight between themselves, Blair was the main beneficiary. I bet Corbyn quite enjoys sitting and watching. He's the one...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

talking about Laura Kunsberg's program last night, did anyone notice the woman from the British Hovercraft Company wrongly believes that Brexit would free her company from Brasilian import tariff of 50%? and the boss of Tate & Lyle expects not to pay £150 millions in UK duty on his sugar cane...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

yes, Brexit campaign is doing very well this week. Unless the BBC manage to teach A-level economics to 50% of the population in the next two weeks, we are indeed heading to exiting the EU. Current status: Remain: 51% Leave: 49% The Brexit's strategy works very well. You have different people...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Johnson is in with a chance but I think there is more chance that Trump will be the next US President (odd: 13/8) than Johnson be PM (odd: 11/4). If Brexiters win, the remainers are still the majority among conservative MPs, so will want to keep Cameron and unlikely to yield to Johnson. Within a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

a future parliament with a remain majority can always stop the leaving process.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

and who do you think is going to replace him? Don't forget that parliament is split 2 remainers for each brexiter. It will be chaos if Brexiters win. it's more likely that the conservatives are going to split, then follows a vote of no confidance and possibly hung parliament with no party can...

Commute Road Bike Build front/rear hub or mid-drive?

as a guide, the Ion motor on your Sparta gives about 40NM torque, roughly on par with a Bafang SWX02 geared hub, more powerful than the Bafang SWX and less than Bafang BPM. The SWX02 is cheaper, lighter weight and more efficient at low revs. The Ion is quieter.

Commute Road Bike Build front/rear hub or mid-drive?

I think the future for direct drive is truly over if you want to make an legal EAPC. I don't know exactly your weight, so can't recommend a suitable geared hub motor.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Robots and automation are essentially software engineering and our education does not produce enough engineers to compete worldwide. Progress in electronics is not matched by much slower progress in software.

Commute Road Bike Build front/rear hub or mid-drive?

You said you want fast and light: Lightweight bikes tend to have fast rolling tyres and derailleur, that limits your choices to either crank drive or lightweight rear hub drive. You said you are on the wrong side of 100kg, my recommendation: BBS01 CD kit or BBS02 if you weigh more than 120kgs.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

the OECD predicts that the EU need 50 million immigrants by 2050 to keep things like they are and the UK need probably 10% or 5 millions, just to replace those in the workforce that reach retirement. Where do you want to get them from? Africa, Middle East, Asia or EU?

Looking for a good quality bike

batteries are usually arranged in 10S4P (2kg + casing) or 10S5P (2.5kg + casing). Currently, Sanyo 3500mAH cells are the best I can get hold of. You get 36V 17AH in a 3kg 10S5P max.

    Batteries

Peter's bike is not heavy (about 21kg). The question is how much range do you need? 10AH will give you about 30 miles. Aging will lose about 2 miles per annum.
