    BH Emotion serious problems

Still no response from BH on my bike yet - dealer tells me they're not responding.

    BH Emotion serious problems

Thanks all - lots more useful advice. Will draw the attention of the dealer to this thread if I get no joy from the wheel rebuild.

    BH Emotion serious problems

I'd rather not for two reasons: firstly I'd prefer to see what happens first when the wheel is rebuilt by BH and secondly I was talking to the mechanic rather than the dealer at the time and I wouldn't want to misrepresent what might have been offered.

    BH Emotion serious problems

Thanks all. The dealer quoted me close to £200 to rebuild the wheel locally which I considered unacceptable when I have spent nearly £2000 on a ten month old bike used perfectly normally! I'll see what happens when the wheel comes back.

    BH Emotion serious problems

Thanks - lots of useful advice. If there's a still a problem when it comes back from BH, I'll suggest that to the dealer.

    BH Emotion serious problems

Yes I'm beginning to think that. Thanks all - let's see what happens to the rebuild and I may come back to you for more advice after that!

    BH Emotion serious problems

Hi all, I've been having a great time with my BH Emotion Neo Cross since last November, but for one serious problem: the spokes on the rear wheel keep breaking. I'm not doing anything unusual - just commuting in general. Nor am I particularly heavy! I've now taken it in to be repaired...

Storck Raddar Multitask SE -V- BH Emotion Neo Xtrem. My personal experience.

Thanks! I'll take it in to be repaired again, but I'm not sure what to do if it keeps happening. M

Storck Raddar Multitask SE -V- BH Emotion Neo Xtrem. My personal experience.

I've been having a bit of trouble with my Neo Cross. Two spokes failed and I had to take it back to be repaired. One day after I get it back - one hour's ride later - and two more spokes have broken! Is this normal? London potholes? Generic problem with hub drives? Or a BH problem? Thanks! M

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Thanks all -will look into both. Did 20 miles on Sunday - still not dead. :p Unless I'm boring everyone I'll keep adding the odd update / question to this thread, if that's ok.

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Well I managed 16 miles today without keeling over, so I'm making progress! Thanks for all the advice on tyre-changing. Still seems like a bit of a palaver - any tyre recommendations that can reduce the frequency of punctures?

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Hi all, Bringing this thread back reminded me I should give everyone an update after all the helpful advice. I got the Neo Cross just before Christmas and it all seems to be working fine. It's pretty heavy to haul around, but once you're on it it feels really exciting to ride. Lots of oomph...

Thanks Alex and Morphix - advice duly noted!

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Makes sense. One other quick question, sorry - do hub motors make it more difficult to change rear tyres / repair punctures? Is it tricky to get the rear wheel out?

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Yes - when I was testing it, an icon appeared on the display suggesting that regenerative braking was going on, though of course I had no opportunity to test if it was happening for real!

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Gosh lots of useful advice - thanks all! Anyway I tested the BH Neo Cross and I loved it. First electric bike that really made me smile as it pulled away. I know eddie won't be happy with me, and I agree the components are a bit sub-par (or non-existent), but I know what Garry means about the...

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Thanks - I'll take all this into account. I think a lot of it for me will be the feel of the motor which you can only get by trying them out! On balance, I would prefer a bike with hub gears, as I expect to have to change at traffic lights. I suppose that moves me in the direction of crank...

Thanks all. I'll try and test a BH E-motion tomorrow! M

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Thanks all for the warm welcome and the advice. I've tried high-end bikes by Wisper, Kalkhoff, AVE, Sparta, Koga, Haibike and Storck Raddar. I feel most comfortable on crank drives and the Impulse / Bosch drives seem to suit me well. I also liked the high-speed roll-off of the Agattu...

Ebikes versus normal bikes for commuting

Hi all, I'm looking to invest in an electric bike, but I wonder if I could get your advice on how it feels to shift from normal bikes to ebikes for regular commuting. My situation's about to change and I'd like to check if an ebike is what I need. I live in London and am in reasonable...
