    Alien Aurora vs Kudos

I agree with NRG. If you enjoy cycling and like your current bike you will almost certainly find a kit fitted to that will give you a better ride and a better bike than most heavier e-bikes.

    Battery Swaps

I have a relatively light (22kg) hybrid conversion with the Tongxin motor (throttle only). I have just bought my wife a Wisper 706 Alpino which I have riden for about 20 miles as a test. It feels so much heavier and noisier than mine and this confirms my preference for a good light road bike...

Is this with the 10Ah battery? Where abouts are you located, anywhere near Devon?

    Woosh Bikes - Sirocco

Thanks for the replies. Just to clarify things - I saw the Sirocco on the Woosh bikes (of Southend) website at Woosh Bikes | Tel 01702 435566 | electric bike sales | bike hire There is another company of a similar name based in Brighton. Their website is at Whoosh - Electronically Assisted...

Tonaro Compy climbs 1 in 4.

Just to provide a bit more detail to my previous post. I am 100kg but reasonably fit and cycle quite a bit. On my throttle only conversion with 6.5Ah battery my range is 15-20 miles on a hilly commute. I use two batteries to get the work (22 miles away). On the flat Tarka Trail (mentioned in...

Tonaro Compy climbs 1 in 4.

I test rode a Tonaro Bighit last week. It was ok but I wouldn't rave about it. The gears on the bike I tried weren't set-up great so it kept slipping out of 4th gear or below making major hill climbing impossible - probably not a fair test but didn't inspire confidence. Battery range over very...

    Woosh Bikes - Sirocco

I've seen some mention of this bike on the forum but has anyone actually bought / ridden one or had any dealings with the company (based in Southend)? I'm looking at getting a cheap bike with a reasonable range for my wife. The spec doesn't seem bad for the money.

    How noisy is YOURS?

The 'nano' hub motor is virtually silent when running. When coming off the throttle there is some noise (and minor resistance) which isn't there before the motor is first used. I think this reduces over time. Is this normal?

    What Type of E-bike?

Sounds to me like a kit fitted to a regular bike would be best bet. Do you have an existing bike? I have fitted a 'nano' kit from The Electric Wheel Company to a regular hybrid bike and commute over hilly terrain. Using the motor (throttle only) only for the uphill bits the 6ah battery can...

    A2B Metro

I've recently started communting a round trip of 45 miles for similar reasons to Overlander. I decided to get a hybrid bike (Globe Vienna) and fit a nano kit to it since I wanted to primarily cycle but not take all day getting there. It's very hilly here in Devon and the motor struggles with the...
