I managed to miss this (so-called) consultation: Choice on Units of Measurement: Markings and Sales Consultation Questions 1 For All, a) Are there any specific areas of consumer transactions that should be a priority for allowing a choice in units of measurement, and why? b) Are there any...

For me, just 3 kWh a day would cover most of my electricity use. And a similar amount would cover most of my driving (if I had an EV!). I don't use a car every day. Most of my journeys are only a few miles. I could probably arrange to almost never drive two consecutive days.

I guess that people will find hospital appointments and operations cancelled, and if not, public transport will be unpredictable making it difficult for patients and staff to get in. And on and on...

I'm glad we are many miles away from London and anywhere else things might be happening (e.g. cities which will be doing something or other such as church services, parades, or giant TVs). But I get a feeling some people might disapprove if we decided to actually do anything like go for a walk...

It looks as if the rate of offending, at least for some crimes, might be greater within the Met than in the population at large. If a crime is committed, first check Met officers. Met police officer charged with 13 child sexual offences PC Hussain Chehab is accused of four counts of sexual...

Yes - that I understand. But I can't make my own petrol. :) The stupidity of this massive differential is that people like me, who are aware, might end up doing extra miles in order to save pounds. It is financially worth driving quite a number of miles to pay about £15 less on a fill up. But...

It isn't the price as such, but the enormous difference between top and bottom prices! 45p a litre difference depending on forecourt. Close to a third more at one than another.

At one time, many people turned to Open University on BBC2 - at all sorts of times. Now that had a calming effect which likely helped many to improve their mental well-being! (Not for one minute suggesting it would work for all. But I've numerous times seen people absolutely absorbed in OU...

They have also shifted oodles of programs around on, for example, Radio 4 Extra so even when you a permitted to listen to something else, the choice is bizarre. A complete Agatha Christie repeated three times to fill the day. (A well-worn repeat at that.) And inconsistently so a program is shown...

That would match nicely with my actual average electricity usage since smart meter installed (April, I think). Rarely more than a touch above 3kWh. I suspect the fridge/freezer is my dominant usage. I get up and see about 35p used and other than computer-related things, there's pretty much...

Cleaning sulfur from natural gas was a major technology. It wasn't that all natural gas was sulfur-free as piped from the ground. And reduction in sulfur content was a major change to diesel over the years. Even ships have to use lower-sulfur fuels when near the cost. I suspect it might be a...
