    Treat the Earth Well

I'm not sure about london, but if the Raleigh venture takes off then surely loads of LBSs will be trained to service Panasonic based e-bikes?

    Treat the Earth Well

if we actually lived in a country where 500 people were sensible enough to abandon the train for e-bikes, surely the train company would realise this too, and even reduce fares so 500 other people moved from their car to the train, or better still put on extra carriages so people can put their...

    If only.......

if you turn the volume up however (and take into account the video is speeded up) I reckon you can hear a fair few ebikes amongst the rest

    Reports of "Motorised Doping"

sounds more like the sort of cyclist trying this kind of "cheating" would have moustachios and wear an old style flying helmet, have a pet dog with an odd bark and a tendency to chase pigeons :D

    Treat the Earth Well

Although my ebike is made by one of Ezees biggest competitors, owning it means I don't have (or need to own) a car or petrol powered motorbike / scooter... even if I did get one of these vehicles in the future I'd use it much less.. Had I not bought the ebike - I would have been tempted to buy...

Sales staff that should know better

if its a Trek I see the dilemma, I looked and I couldn't find that info either, it is of course the fault of the manufacturer but doesn't bode well for timely support in case of problems. It shows a lack of interest for the UK market compared to a company like Wisper or Powabyke who are...

i'm seeing loads of electric bikes now!

someone I know from another forum has mentioned seeing loads in Cambridge. They do however have ETS based in their town and a lot of cyclists anyway.

i'm seeing loads of electric bikes now!

Seems to be concentrated mostly around South Central England? I've not seen that many recently but the weather hasn't been so good so maybe the e-bikes I saw last year will re-appear. in East Anglia they are also a much wider age range including younger people.

Sales staff that should know better

yes, the young man in the shop should have done so. No one can be expected to know about everything, but a simple honest dialogue would have been better. "This is a very new product. I don't know about all the features, but will find my manager or colleague who does" And do it there and then...

Sales staff that should know better

The problem I found in my area is 3 out of 4 LBS's simply turned away the business with regard to repairs on ebikes - so the one which did was overloaded with work. Even if they don't want to sell the machines you'd think in a recession no one wanted to turn down business? Another...

Sales staff that should know better

Some of the local shops in my area are slowly waking up to ebikes (I have kept David at Wisper informed) and they can afford to do so as there isn't much competition, but in other areas time isn't on their side - such as the OP's area where a specialist e-bike dealer with full service facilities...

    Talking of stealing.

I keep my Wisper indoors anyway... at work it often gets parked in a corner of the office or somewhere where it can be watched - I do work out in the sticks though where locked bikes are left alone (as too many overly optimistic folk leave bikes unlocked or in insecure sheds )

Sales staff that should know better

The market is a harsh master, especially with the Internet giving transparency to the failings of all suppliers and exposing failings in customer service. I don't think Trevor was over critical, he was exercising due diligence for a substantial purchase.. Other posts show him to be fairly...

Sales staff that should know better

given the lack of basic engineering knowledge, product knowledge or even the passion to learn about a new product to help the business, I wouldn't buy a push bike from that shop!

    Using illegal bikes

And round here she will be! Due to the ageing population of this region, this is a problem which has actually led to injury and even fatal collisions, the victims being from the same age groups (hmm, just like the gary boys and girls!) - so both Norfolk and Suffolk Constabulary are taking a...

    Bike workstands for pedelecs

I'd be interested to know what is suitable for a Wisper 905SE, I did ask on here a while back but never got a definitive answer other than a strange thing which hoisted up bikes on a pulley (which wouldn't be any good to me as I've not got a shed/garage with a tall enough roof)

    Using illegal bikes

this is already what happens (particularly in the Mid Suffolk area where I work) and there are of course many derestricted scooters/motorbikes or those "driven otherwise than in accordance with a license", or on expired CBTs etc (which all younger riders now have to take even for low powered...

    Using illegal bikes

I think one important factor is at present most "illegal" bikes are being constructed by otherwise law abiding and peaceable folk in their middle years or older, who have decades of safe road usage on two and four wheels behind them. from what I have gathered here, obtaining the bits for a high...

The Electric Bicycle Club of Britain

where I live there is a larger elderly population and two local constabularies are taking the issue of badly driven mobility scooters quite seriously, as there have already been injury and even fatal collisions
