    Sunstroke

Thankyou for the historical perspective gentlemen, I think I spent most of that year in a pram. Argyll and the NW of Scotland has a peculiarly contrary weather pattern to the rest of the UK so when the weatherman on tv says it's going to be nice everywhere he means everywhere but Argyll. If it...

    Exiting New Things

250w limited means hubs are the limited, lesser option. Putting some gearing in it like this one enables altogether different possibilities, for example getting up steep hills without having to go into psycho-drive!

    Sunstroke

It's been a long hard winter up here in Lulu Land and let me tell you that the strain was getting the better of sterner Luli's than I on occassion! To get this enormity into recognisable perspective here, we have had five months of unremittent, incessant rainfall, alleviated only yesterday and...

    Exiting New Things

A curious though wimpy hub motor for those more concerned with their assets than their freedom, what point then in upping the amps and going illegitimate.?

Gi Bike - have you got any feedback for the development team?

Delightfully beautiful vanity project you would never take out in the rain.

    Dahon Jetstream conversion

That was rude and offensive honking and someone will knock you off your bike before long if you're not more careful!

Please help me before I go MAD

KTM : "If you're asking about non eBikes you're probably best asking on singletrack world of another similar forum." -What? "We also have some stock of the Lycan SE1 in a 17" which is she's over 5' 5" would be fine. This is a 130mm travel bike with 26" wheels and standard qr dropouts. Which is...

    Creating more work!.....

I like midrives and the nuvinci too. Sure they are prone to catastrophic failure but on the positive side you have unique gear range and control possibilities.

    Gi folding e-bike

Beautiful looking design, definetely a step up from these tedious old cruddy runoffamill Haibikes that seem to be just about every where nowadays.

    Creating more work!.....

If you mounted the DD in the middle and laced it thro the duvinci at rear you would then have a dual throttle effect allowing insane acceleration effects for a given C rate. Indeed you would basically be riding a unicycle which dispenses with the need for a front wheel at all!

    Haibike Head Unit

Can we take it then that the new 2014 Haibike range has submarine capability? I ask only as ferry fares to the islands are a major operating cost for us low level ebike hire merchants in the nw?

I've been stopped by the police today :(

Disagree. After 10 years in some of the finest wilderness in the country I would chew off my right leg for the joy of a high speed central London commute. I would finish off my day out in London with some late night biked up hell raising and bag snatching in Soho and my lipos would be too hot to...

Thanks Shemozzle that was the most exciting advert for EBs I ever saw.

    Another mid motor announced

Thanks for that Mike. Do you think you might still get 30 miles from a charge? We have five of these batteries going into their 3rd season now, so I was a bit nervous how they're going to respond with the first hire of the year on a 3 day trip to one of the islands.T hese are flat pack cells...

I've been stopped by the police today :(

Being young is no excuse in my old and flailing eyes. CWAH has committed a criminal offense and many people the lenght and breadth of the country believe that should not be allowed. CWAH has consistently rode to the fore at the head of the criminal tendancy of this forum and must be held to...

I've been stopped by the police today :(

The only surprising news here is that it has taken the police so long to finally apprehend CWAH. He has been cwerving around central London at30mph on that souped up, much dented, mini wheeled, blazing wagon of his for years now. It's not the traffic but the counter terrorism boys who will get...

    Another mid motor announced

Wish I could Mike but the truth is that when it comes to ebikes I'm just pure winging it here. I do know that my own Diamondback which has xt gears has held up fine with the GNG2 motor at 1500w peak for over a year, the Bighit at similar not so much. Once I figure out which to keep I shall...

I've been stopped by the police today :(

Hi RobF, as a newbie who doesn't get let out that much or "catch much hump", I for one would be interested in your Rose 29er vs Brompton nano thoughts as I see you ride them both. A new thread, a small essay would be of interest to many if you get the time.

    Another mid motor announced

With 5 tonaro hire bikes over two years we have had a couple of broken chains and two busted freewheels as well as wear problems on the 11 tooth cog. I'm guessing that XT quality components would have held up much better, and more so with an XT quality rider in the saddle, but in a red...

    Another mid motor announced

Quite right Mike Killay , Prince of Denmark at 36v, it's when you start pushing the power output above 750 w that problems with drivetrain kick in. I love everything Ive heard so far about this new wee Bafang unit.
