What to do with my Agattu

Cheers Pat. good idea but the more I look into it the more individual parts are needed ! My 7spd hub doesn't have disc fittings, so would need another adaptor. But a roller brake drops straight on, I've read some good reviews and if I order within two hours it's £19.99 :) back end sorted

What to do with my Agattu

Nice one, I'd never thought of Rollerbrakes. I've spotted this for £20, I may need to engineer a bracket as it's for braze on mounts ( I have a lathe/mill ) Shimano Nexus Nexave Inter-M IM70 rear roller brake BR-IM70-R in Silver/Black | eBay For the front, a disc brake for £10 Halfords | Clarks...

What to do with my Agattu

I'm back again with my 7spd Agattu:) Striped back, lights, rack, mudgards all gone and some lovely smart sam plus tyres (2.1"). I just love it ! But rim breaks + mud, suck big time. When I'm not picking mud out (because it's bad enough to slow me down) I'm sure I can feel the rims getting...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I had muddy sections like that on my trail and it's a pain, with my rim breaks doubly so. I did stop a few times to poke it out with a stick  I've been looking at better forks and disc breaks but then I realised how much it would cost and it would still be a compromise

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Several points here, there's no granny ring, i have a 7 speed hub with a 23t cog and a 41t chain-wheel. This setup has me using 1st to 3rd in the woods and up to 6th on open trails (10/12mph) 7th comes into its own on the open road. The change in gearing should bring the overall ratio down by...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Finally got out on my Agattu after removing the rack & mudguards and adding a pr of 2.1" smart sam tyres. The rain stopped, the sun came out and I was off. A mile or so of Tarmac before the trail starts and the smart sam tyres are rolling as freely as the city conti's I've just taken off ...

    Bike Forks?

Why we are talking suspension forks, can anyone recommend a replacement set for my Agattu. The originals (900 miles) work OK but I'd like more travel now I'm only trail riding it. like me the trails I'm on are slow and lumpy, so I don't need high end forks. Like a lot of folks, I'd prefer not...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I'll second that, my post is an earlier model SP5? NCX I think. Brought from a German site, the best £35 cycling purchase I've made.

    Kalkhoff Agattu

No longer for sale as I've put some knobblys on & stripped it back for off road riding ;o)

Does the forum need a name change or change of emphasis.

Like in an earlier post I to found the site by accident. The term "pedelec" meant nothing to me, all I knew was electric bikes and nothing of the different flavours. Now I own a Kalkhoff, I find people ask me about my "electric bike" and if I try to explain it's a "pedelec" they become...

Carry a passenger on my bike

No but seriously why not give it a go, we can all learn from your experiences. Just one question ? As your looking to spend big money £200 plus by the time you've paid taxes etc Why not just buy your friend a bike:D

    Soldering Iron

Out of all my irons I use the weller's the most, 40watt for general wireing & lipos, 75watt when doing XT60's And the big ****** at the top 250watt is good for roof flashing & soldering patches on rusty petrol tanks

Carry a passenger on my bike

I think its a flawed concept, it's not just the seat tube but the whole frame was not designed for those type of stresses. And then there's the law. CARRYING PEOPLE & THINGS According to the Road Traffic Act, two people are not allowed to ride a single bike (a ‘backie’ for instance, or carrying...

    Tyre Experts

A couple of thoughts ! Having spent the day with nothing better to do than surf the net for a pr of tyres for my Agattu to use off road (suffering from man flu lol) I've read a lot of reviews and puncture protection tubes don't do well. In the end I decided, the extra I would have spent on...

What to do with my Agattu

Your both spot on. My fault, I wasn't clear in my first post:o The post modern seatpost gave up or I should say seized up and I now use a vastly superior suntour scx post, one post swaped between two bikes as required. flecc has summed it up nicely, take off all that's not needed and fit some...

What to do with my Agattu

Thanks for all the responce, I didn't realise there's so many late nighters out there and here's me getting up at 5 o'clock :D Several points but the main one is not about buying a new bike but what to do with the one I've got already. It's not about more power, it's how it's delivered. Quite a...

What to do with my Agattu

Well D8veh, I know what your saying but I was asking what to do with my Agattu as no one wants to buy it. I'm down to £600 for a 900mile bike, that must be a fair price ?

What to do with my Agattu

OK so before the bike there's me :) Arthritis in my knees mean that I can't put all my weight into peddling, effectively that means I can't get off the saddle to peddle, I use the shortest mountain bike gears on steep hills and really spin those peddles, going up hill at 2 to 3 mph :o This...
