Changing from hub motor to mid drive

Why not go the other way, fit a completely legal 250w bbs01b, it certainly copes with ordinary roads etc and can have the speed limit raised from the control panel. Maybe 25mph dependent on hearing. The motor can be tweaked to 350w using a connecting lead and a laptop or via speeed app on an...

    Rotating trailer axle hitch solved.

The trailer axle hitch was rotating downwards when pulling a bit of weight. I made up a bracing arm that fits against frame tube to hold it steady.

    New seat required for

Brooks 66. Takes a little while to mould to your shape but comfy. Not cheap though. I initially bought a £20 Chinese copy but the front spring on that fractured and it's a bit close to sensitive parts!

stop close passing for about a tenner

So, if the pole doesn't reach 1.5m there's no problem for car drivers, who all drive outside that safety zone, don't they? If they can't cope with it, aw bless, they might just have to slow down and wait. Poor diddums! Why are car drivers more entitled to the road than cyclists? BMW drivers...

    Bike Stands

I was envisioning the jubilee clip going round the metal tube so it cannot slide down into the plastic, presuming it's the vertical tube that is slipping.

    Rear hub cassette spinning

To get a freewheel off, use the spline tool in a vice and turn the wheel via the rim. I watched an expert flibbertigibbet in Halfrauds trying it with a ring spanner on the spline tool. He was struggling.

    Trailer hitch for e-bikes

I have similar trouble, considering welding an arm going forwards to butt up against the underside of the frame tube to stop rotation. Awaiting delivery of a round tuit, used my last one up.

    Short Commuter Advice

Re the 15mph speed limit, a bbs01b can be adjusted on the control panel. With a cable and the speeed phone app the power can be increased to 350w. I have tried both, because you have to, don't you, but only in the grounds of my mansion . Now reset back to legality, I find 250w and 15mph fast...

E-Bike related clip taken from "The Guardian" 14th Jan 2023.

They are complaining about bikes going 26mph, hardly speeding, a competent cyclist on an ordinary bike can easily achieve that. I was expecting to read if higher speeds, 40mph etc. They still need to slow down though.
