You can download their accounts from the Charity Commission website. They used 25k of their reserve in 2021. There's nothing to see here. Same with Sunak's wife non-dom, she is an Indian citizen living in London, she pays her taxes in her country and 50k a year to HMRC to live here. I dislike...

The problem is how do you know if you can trust the coder and publisher of the app? The system can't tell the difference between the bona fide and the malicious. The system relies on victims reporting.

    Investigating Lithium battery generators

in my particular case, I am thinking of installing 20KW solar panels on our roofs, so a powerwall will be needed. Our economic case is compelling at the moment but in view that the uk wholesale gas price is falling fast, in a year time, the present plan may not stack up.

    Investigating Lithium battery generators

what is the economic case of a powerwall? Let's say you charge your powerwall at night tariff (10p/kwh between 23:30 and 5:30) and use it in the day (44p/kwH). Maximum savings for a 10kwH powerwall: 34p*10 = £3.40. Let's say on average you get about 2/3 of that, £2.25 at the moment but when the...

I am astonished at the price of these powerwalls. As Nealh said, they are not sophisticated technology and the components (batteries, inverters, chargers) are widely available. I don't get it. It seems that those companies try to exploit the fear factor.

You should forget BJ. His time has passed. He won big last time because Corbyn has moved his party so far left of centre. It's no longer the case with Starmer. If Sunak loses the next GE, Jeremy Hunt will be next in line.

One issue in the UK that I noticed is the number of economic inactives and people in mobility scooters compared to those in France.

the main difference is the cost of borrowing. In 2010 as in 2020, in fact for the whole of the period 2009-2021, borrowing cost were a tenth of what it is now. Austerity is no longer a choice.

Sunak of course. Inflation is projected to peak before Christmas then rapidly drops to around 5% in March/April. Gas price drops rapidly now. Government support for energy will be targetted to the poorest from April for 6 more months, Pound will quickly rise. Sunak will narrow the deficit...

BJ is OK in good times, like London winning the Olympics and our athletes won a record number of medals. He never will be up to the task in bad times. That's not why his hero is remembered. There was a clip on the BBC the other day. BJ was then foreign secretary. The view of the interviewee was...

Boston University researchers combined the Washington strain of the virulent Wuhan-1 SARS-COV2 with the spikes of Omicron. The recombinant virus has killed 8 test mice out of 10. The original Washington strain killed 6 mice out of 6 and the Omicron strain killed none. The newly created virus is...

He certainly can. There are plenty in the Conservative party who think Sunak isn't British. He may not win though. Brexit isn't going well.

Under PM Starmer or Sunak, when interest rate is high, those who buy treasury bonds call the shots. Put yourself in the shoes of someone who offer up a 30 year fixed rate loan to our government. Truss and Kwarteng wanted to bypass the BoE and the OBR. See how well that did. the economic...

that is true of the tories. None of the opposition parties is broken at the moment. That's why recent polls gave the tories only 14% of the potential votes, just 3 points above the LibDems. That's probably what Johnson thought when he decided not to run. For once, he would be correct.

Remember the tortoise and the hare? The tories could not sort themselves out in the last year. That says clearly that putting one's house in order is actuually a very difficult task. Starmer did this brilliantly, so don't put him down just yet.
