    36v battery with 48v motor

Controllers and Displays need to be matched - I suspect your existing display won't work with a new controller. If you wanted a bargain kit , the cheapest I could find for 26" wheel was the XF15C (rear cassette) with KT controller and display from PSWPower for £160 + £7 shipping from Germany -...

    36v battery with 48v motor

This is the controller I bought, KT is the brand https://topbikekit.com/t09s-36v48v500w-22a-kt-sine-wave-controller-for-ebike-p-734.html The same site has akm128 hub motors (2.8kg) although they are rated 800w so not UK legal. There are 250w rated hub motors on that site...

    36v battery with 48v motor

Have you an example of the steepest hill you are going to cycle up ? I've gone with a 48v Bafang G020 (26" wheel rear hub cassette) with a KT max 22a 9 mosfet controller , but I am 16.5 stone and occasionally want to get up mile long hills that peak out at 30% incline Something like the...

Between 6 and 7 . It does seem to go into gear 1 and 2 fine (not that I'll be using them much after I add the motor) but how would I move the chainring inbound ? (There is room) ETA, just found places selling chainring spacers and longer bolts !

Thanks @Waspy It's now 1*9. The 48t narrow wide gear is fine, about 5mm clearance of the chainstay Did a test ride and goes through the gears very slickly.

Yes - I have a 1.6kg AKM-75 front motor in a folding bike and I am 16.5 stone ! It seems to do fine https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/converting-a-little-folder.47261/post-717289

    36v battery with 48v motor

its just a bit of a cheapo controller - try to find one with a KT controller - they have power based PAS levels rather than speed based PAS levels

    36v battery with 48v motor

No Maybe an AKM75 or Bafang G62 - what is your weight, fitness, what terrain are you likely to use the bike for ? A 48V 10Ah battery would have approximately the same range and weight (and possibly the same number of cells) as a 36V 13.5Ah battery

    36v battery with 48v motor

You can, but it will run at 36/48=3/4 of the claimed max speed (so if it runs at 240rpm at 48V it will only run at 180 rpm at 36V) Why not get a 36v front hub motor ?

    Scott Genius MC50 BBSHD build

Hi, No, I have just got a Genius mc40 and I'm putting a rear hub motor on and will use it for roads / light trails. It is the 2007-2012 model. It looked as if it could be converted to a mid drive though so I'm interested in your experience I'm slightly worried I will enjoy full suspension...

    What a mine field!

Have you bought the Bafang 615 ? I'm not sure if there is an option to use 12 speed - there is also the Tongshen mid drives - they might be a possibility - maybe ask @Woosh Is there any option to return the bike and get your money back ? I'm not sure I would choose to start off with a 12...

    Eleglide M1 plus 12.5 36v battery

It just will have much less range (3/5 ths) and as with any battery , as you use the battery the voltage drops and you get less power (but because it is a very small battery the voltage will drop quicker) I would seriously investigate AZ's option - you could get a 3rd party battery 36V 15 Ah...

Yes - the rear suspension of that Scott Genius has 3 settings that you can adjust from a lever on the handlebar : Locked (a bit pointless for me), Downhill (6 inches of travel) , Traction Control (4 inches of travel and compression damping increased). I think I will leave it in Traction...

    Pedelec Nirvana

I think that should be fine, the chainstay doesn't really flare out from where the existing 42t gear ring extends to and there is loads of clearance. I think I can position the 48t gear where the existing middle gear ring is and still have a decent amount of clearance and will be a better...

    Pedelec Nirvana

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it as a project. I've ordered that crankset / chainring, removed the existing front derailleur and chainrings , ordered a new chain, ordered 2 marathon plus tyres. Need to put on lights and mudguards Although it's full suspension, I will use it mostly on roads...
