    Conversion kit ordered

GT's are a good bike for conversion. Funny enough, I have an old Timberline (steel frame) lying about that I plan on striping, painting and rebuilding this winter. Here's my Arrowhead conversion. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Fitting a S12S controller to an ezee mk2 motor

Yes, I'm after a controller, display and a few bits n bobs. Can you hold off the order until Friday, when I can work out what I need? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Hello

Have a look at http://www.pandaebikes.com ...and see how much a 250w geared hub kit is. You aren't going to save much by going DD, but you will lose a lot of torque. You (like me) are a larger chap who will require that extra torque. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Wow - beautiful bike

Lovely looking bike, but a classic bit of style over substance. Does it charge up while you pedal it? Oh wait, it does. To complete the BS there is not one single mention of the all important battery capacity, while lots of crowing about how light it is. Cynical, moi? Sent from my HTC One_M8...

Long time - Back on board need advice.

Looks like you will be able to settle the argument after a few hundred miles. Whenever I use cheap, non puncture resistant tyres I will have a puncture within 100 miles, often sooner. With puncture resistant ones I have often worn them out before I get a puncture. Sent from my HTC One_M8...

Bafang BPM/CST or if you want to get fitter, go for SWX.

    Hello

If you are looking at the 500w kit from electric Bike Conversions, then I advise against it. Its a Direct Drive motor, which wont be much good for you. Its wound for 30mph, which means it will have very little torque. Either a geared hub motor, or a crank drive motor would suit you. Hub motor...

    Hello

No, I don't think a 500w will suit you, at least until you grasp the implications. In the pedelec world things are not as straight forward as they first appear. 250w does not mean 250w. Off road does not mean 'Not on the road', and laws that apply to cars mostly don't to pedelecs. Welcome...

    500W e-bike or road bike?

I asked the seller a few questions, and he has replied to say that: The frame is made of Steel. Looking at the size of the tubes, it will be extremely heavy. He says 24Kilos, but I reckon that's a mistake or doesn't include the battery. It might be the weight of original bike without the...

    500W e-bike or road bike?

But stopping a 30kilo bike from 30mph on wuxung v-brakes? You'd need an airstrip. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    500W e-bike or road bike?

My suspicion is that's a direct drive unit, and as such won't be a good hill climber. I could be wrong. Some of the information on the eBay page is a lie. It is not legal to have switchable power that exceeds 250w. It is very specifically mentioned in the legislation. (Wouldn't bother me to...

    Remove speed peg

You wont need to turn off the motor.

    Remove speed peg

If it is limited, it won't limit the bikes top speed, only the max speed before assistance cuts out. If you can't go faster than 30km/h down a steep hill you have a mechanical problem. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

Fitting a S12S controller to an ezee mk2 motor

Hi, Will PM you the details. I'll be commissioning a 500kW Wind turbine, so you wont have trouble finding me. D8veh got fed up with some people on here and explained why he was off in a thread called 'Frum(sic) makes me feel sick'...

    £1000-£1300 Budget Which Bike?

My personal use means that I like the SWX best. I don't need/want much torque, and I run at 4A most of the time. If I were commuting up steep hills I think I'd want to use the BPM/CST

I've never tried Big Ben's, but I have some DMR Motos which I use on my trail bike. They seem to be a similar idea, albeit the DMR's are a bit more off-road than on. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk

    Elise Electric Explorer from bicycles4u

You may get more if you are light/fit. I'm basing it on 12Wh/mile which is considered 'average'. I have been up at 20 and am now down to about 6.5 Wh/mile. But, frankly if you can do 6.5Wh/mile then an ebike is a bit isn't a waste of time. (I have some specific challenges that make it worthwhile...
