Just a thought on a hot topic

I store mine in a polystyrene box in my garage to even out temperature changes, I charge them every couple of months or so in winter and then drop the voltage down to about 40% with my home made discharger. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/battery-care-over-winter.29959/

Just a thought on a hot topic

Yes that's correct. I think I mentioned in the first post it's not a total solution, it just seems to offer a little bit more

Just a thought on a hot topic

Yes I don't see this as a total solution, but having seen some of the videos od batteries going up possibly easier to deal with a box than a flaming open battery

Just a thought on a hot topic

Not a total solution to the problem but as an extra layer of protection what about a slightly modified version of this to put your battery in while charging https://preppersshop.co.uk/genuine-ex-military-50-cal-ammo-storage-box-9154-p.asp Make some holes in it to try and stop it bursting in...

Do you leave your display attached to your ebike, when leaving it locked in a public place?

My Halfords Carera has a very neat little display which just slides off and locks in place with a clip, the contacts are in the back of the unit, I don't know why more companies don't adopt a similar approach

    Protected cycle lanes?

I think if you check London has large subsidies on transport which are disproportionate to the other regions of the UK Look at how much is being spent on new underground lines measured in billions while HS2 north was strangled at birth and a few millions were given to level up the north south...

    Protected cycle lanes?

It's easy to make sweeping statements, but I live in the Yorkshire dales we have a bus service less than once per hour which ends about six o'clock. The local council no longer grit the roads in winter and in bad weather 4 x4 vehicles are a necessity for safe transport. It often seems that our...

    Forthcoming EU Red Tape Bonfire

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in conjunction with e bike regulations is brake efficiency standards. If bike power was upgraded presumably the already heavy e bike will become heavier combine that with a heavy rider and increase the speed and you need to be able to stop it in a safe manner...

    Tesco Hopper

I bought one a few years ago which was never used, recently cleaned it down and bought a new battery here: Battery Link It seems fine and works OK but not used it much yet. The battery came with a new mount for the seat post so you can dump the problem one, and a chager and seems to be...

    Battery Care over Winter

The Tesco shopper batteries (24v) are labeled 10 Ah, the original one is at least 4 years old but never really used the new one should also be 10Ah and is very close. The original halfords battery (36v) is 4 years old and I thought it may be weak but not too bad, it should be 11.6 Ah as should...
