    Motor cut off switch

you need a push to break switch. If you cut the cable from the sensored lever, you'll see three wires: black, red and yellow or another colour. Black is the ground, red is 5V and the other colour is the sensing wire. Check with a multitester to confirm that you get about 4.5V between black and...

    another which one...sorry.

No. The revision was due in June but postponed. The 2016 version will have the removeable and lockable Zephyr-B battery, longer seat post (400mm from 350mm), the controller is moved to inside the motor to save space and uprated from 15A to 17A. The new CDN will have a rear rack and be zippier...

Whoosh Big Bear 15ah battery Bafang motor.

she said 'North Harris hills', that's Outer Hebrides. @ OP: you could email Andy @ woosh a few pictures of your bike, they'll advertise your bike on their website for free.

    another which one...sorry.

strike the zephyr-CDN from your list, it's being revised at the moment but do add the woosh Gale with 13AH battery to your list. The zephyr-B is the best equipped of the bunch and the only one that you could call 'fun bike' and suitable for off-roading.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

there is already a soft landing zone in assist levels 1,2,3 in the J-LCD, none of that jerkiness but on 4 & 5, you can still feel the stop/start. I suppose the King Meter people are making progress.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

I can think of ways to make the King Meter LCD more user friendly but would the customers be willing to pay £15-£20 for the soft transition add-on while they can simply derestrict the LCD for nothing?

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

I like your idea of upgrading the brakes to Avid and replacing the suspension fork with rigid one. I don't have any view about derestriction, to me, it's a personal choice. Hatti @ woosh made clear on her website that she'd void your guarantee if the bike is derestricted.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

@ warwick: I don't think Hatti @ woosh will like what you are saying. She will charge you for repair if she found out you derestrict the bike.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

You will need a 15AH battery, anything less, you will have to recharge it twice a day. Another thing to keep in mind: strict regime of maintenance for the mileage you have in mind. BTW, that profile would suit a woosh Big Bear or Big Bear LS. The Big Bear may be too big for your height, the LS...

    Segboards, Are They Legal?

I don't think they are in public places or pathways.

Can I derestrict a Cyclotricity 250W kit? Recommendations for lightweight hybrid?

your intended use is not what the law allows. You'll need to have a number plate and bike insurance if you want assistance when riding at above 25km/h. The law tries to help the less able bodied persons to enjoy biking, not to replace the petrol motorbikes with electric ones.

Bottle battery can not be charge

You usually have 3 FETs in parallel controlling the output and one FET the charging current. That one may have blown. Worst case scenario, you may need a replacement BMS. Email Andy @ Woosh.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

Downhilling and coasting at high speed are fine. When riding assisted, assistance must legally cease when you ride at over 25km/h, then you must ride 100% under your own steam. German bikes are usually programmed to ease off the assistance when you get near 25kph and cut off completely around...

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

with any good derestricted crank drive, you can easily pedal above 20mph on flat roads and in top gear. 20mph corresponds roughly to a cadence about 53-55 rpm. These crank drive bikes can assist up to 85 rpm. Speed isn't a problem until the police notice your speed.

Best ebike for 40 mile per day commute (hilly!)

Dalek, please keep in mind that legally, your bike will be limited to 15.5mph, you can push the average to may be 16-17mph but it's certainly illegal to derestrict your bike to gain higher average speed.

    Krieger vs Zephyr-B

The Krieger has standard downtube battery, you can always replace it by any 36V downtube battery, so that's an advantage. The zephyr-B battery case is less often seen but still a very popular case for folding bikes with in-frame battery...

the woosh Santana CD would be good for the job. http://wooshbikes.co.uk/?sanata-cd Crank drive, fast, low step frame, perfect for your height, comfortable riding position, 15AH battery, good range. If you can wait a bit, the new woosh Karoo LS arriving in November with SWX02 rear hub drive is a...

    Krieger vs Zephyr-B

the zephyr-B is slightly better. zephyr-B has better shocks, better brakes, better weight distribution and can fold. The rear BPM hub motor is very forgiving and gives better comfort too.
