Returning my ebike to Decathlon tonight and here's why

An ebike costing £999 new Covered over 800 miles Cons: 1. rear wheel difficult to remove - 2. an annoying click and a creak and you want a `full cash refund` because of that??!! o_O an outside chance with a £4k Riese & Muller maybe, but you must be realistic here.

    Update on N.I. e-bike regs.

So could you now say the DVLA in Swansea are in direct contravention of this Directive from the EU? "(However some provisions of Directives might have a “direct effect”, i.e. they are applicable even if the national legislator fails to implement the Directive in time.)" But how would that feed...

    My first DIY e-bike

John, what you`re considering here is entering a world of pain for yourself, not to mention the financial outlay. Keep it simple, spend £800 - £1k on a straightforward BBSHD conversion with a 17-20aH Battery and you`ll have all the power you need for off-road. And if it`s speed you`re after gear...

new downtube battery, how to detach plate anyone?

I have the exact same. Is your bracket fixed to the frame yet or on just the bottom of the battery? Either way hold the key in the unlock position, (it doesn`t stay there its spring loaded) and slide the battery back up, you` will have to be very forceful with this. In fact it may take two...

That gets near to what you need, personally i`d go the extra mile and get the BBSHD from https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/8fun-bafang-48V1000W-electric-bike-kit-for-fat-electric-bike/705369_32484856225.html?spm=2114.12010615.0.0.9d3da095mvTi97 along with a 52v 17aH Battery from Jimmy...

    My first DIY e-bike

Wouldn`t be my choice, it will turn out a big heavy bad handling contraption and go through your battery in no time. One of the mid-drive 1kw options coupled with a 52v 17aH battery will give you all you need. (off road, private land and all that drivel, of course ;))

Well done Ted! Funny just this minute i was reading on the progress of our new Greenway, the cross border stage from Newry through to Greenore, this apparently will link onto the Newry canal Towpath route through to Craigavon and then on to Belfast. It is open to both walkers and cyclists...
