    varaible capacitor (flux cap??)

jimmy, the electromagnetic waves from the mobile phone mast that you collect with your antenna creates an alternating magnetic flux through your loop antenna, like a the transformer, the mast's aerial is the primary winding, your loop antenna is the secondary winding. In a common transformer...

    Battery capacity / bike performance

If you look at the battery level on the LED display panel when riding up that steep hill, you will see one or two or three LEDs go off. If only one LED goes off, then replacing the battery won't change much, you'll need a stronger motor and controller with higher amps. If two or three LEDs go...

No, there are a lot of billionaires but they own about £5 trillions and the rest of us 7 billions own about £200 trillions. when your bank agrees to lend you an amount of money, it creates the credit and the money out of nothing, it creates a computer record to say that you owe your bank the...

Currency Market Fix fines banks £3.6billion

I think you are unfair to blame the banks for our budget deficit. Before the crisis, bank profits under the previous Labour government contributed 20% to the budget. Since the crash, banks are not paying much in corporation tax. Just imagine the effect on your family if your household's income...

Currency Market Fix fines banks £3.6billion

the money comes mainly from overnight interbank lending and currency and interest swaps. They make money on fourth decimal place (0.01 basis point) of overnight interest rate, basically 7th decimal point on the sums they lend to each other. What they push up in today will have to come down...

    Custom Cube Kathmandu build

I am not convinced that the current glued on Chinese hydraulic brake sensors are safe. The magnet and sensor are not protected and depend on glue to keep them in place. I think for bikes with hydraulic brakes, the kit must be torque sensored like German bikes and do away with hydraulic brake...

    Opinion on AVE MH 7?

You should look at the state of most bikes at public bike stands. They aren't pretty but they still take you from A to B. As long as the electrics and brakes work, most people don't bother too much.

    Opinion on AVE MH 7?

I am not sure I can agree with that view. The vast majority of commuter bikes are Chinese bikes, so you can't really compare. The quality of Chinese bikes does vary but usually, the bikes fall into pieces because of lack of simple routine maintenance, like keeping bolts and nuts tightened...

    Need a very comfortable bike!

The Volt Kensington is a little bit big for you. The Moustache Lundi is a pure pedelec, no throttle, and too big for you. The Pedego Boomerang is too big, too heavy (28kgs) for you. The Belleni Classica has a tiny battery capacity (36V 6.6AH), not good. The Juicy Classic Click has 26" wheels, a...

lost keys for my bottle battery frame unit

The latch at the top of the battery is very strong. Try with a big flat screwdriver to see if you can yank the battery out. I reckon it's not going to be successful and you may have to drill out the silver bar under the battery. You'll need a new mounting kit with new lock and keys in any case.

BMW Cruise e Bike - any good?

Most members have had more than one bike. You should therefore keep in mind that the first bike you buy is not going to stay with you for very long, possibly a year so do keep the depreciation in mind for that what if you don't like it any more.

What Election Result would have been with PR

that should have been the natural territory for a protest party, positioned slightly to the left of Labour, like the LibDems before 2010. I blame Clegg for their change of direction.
