Best bike for lower back problem

I think with any bike you get your going to need one of these, the Suntour NCX post, or failing that a good suspension seatpost, i have a very similar lower back problem and every time i ran over one of those pipe tracks across the road it was torture with that sudden compression.

    Bbsxx gear change sensor

No you don't need one, have the exact same setup myself, BBS02 + Alfine8, just pause on the pedals, up/down a gear and away you go again. What i did notice though with the Alfine 8 is to get your cable from shifter to where it enters the hub as straight as possible, any sharp bends delays the...

    Another conversion looms.. suggestions please

Having done a BBS02 conversion on a 26" wheel MTB i thought i`d get something with 700c rims and possibly go with a hub drive this time, though i`m sorely tempted by the BBSHD and a Sturmey Archer 5 speed IGH. I picked up this Whyte on Ebay, seems to tick most boxes - 700c, hydraulic discs...

ahh... the fabled Shimano MegaRange, much praised by Sheldon Brown!! I had four of these once, have just the one remaining, "may" part with it. Have another bike bought for some sort of conversion so will check it takes a freewheel or cassette.

Chainline offset for BBSHD and hub gear - how much is too much?

I have the BBS02/Alfine 8 IGH set-up and had to use a tensioner, no other choice really as the frame has vertical drop-outs. I would say your problem is that 32t front bling-ring, is it specially for the BBDHD motor or the BBS02 or something you found? I know the offsets are different and if...
