    New dahon - Jifo 16

Ok, you're always very helpful and both you and d8v3h are real mentors for me!! I want a bike I can carry through the 2 stairs to my flat, that's able to reach 30 mph max speed (for long flat road) but most of the time I'd be around 20-23 mph. Good acceleration because there are so many light...

    New dahon - Jifo 16

Jerry, I've already been through the speed debate here many times and I don't want to into this debate again... Yes, I'm looking for something faster and with better torque. That's why I'm only looking into 135 mm motors. And I'll have more motors choices (except for the 209 but I'm not sure...

    New dahon - Jifo 16

Hmmm... Maybe I should just buy a dahon jetstream like you then. Downtube seems good but I haven't seen many news from this company. (not sure if they are still alive) How do you install 135mm motor on a 130mm fork dropout? And why do you want to install it on front wheel and not on rear wheel...

    New dahon - Jifo 16

Is it complicated to install a rear brake?? Couldn't I just buy an additional one? And for regenerative braking, it means direct drive motor. The only light enough is the crystalyte 209. But I'm not sure about its performance. I've seen poor values from a user of the 206. (around 16 wh/km at...

    New dahon - Jifo 16

D8v3h, my savior! Really? It's possible? How? Brakes are mandatory in uk legislation. Bike would have brake and they can't be sold in uk. If they are too poor I'd just change them to better V-brake

    New dahon - Jifo 16

The dahon uno was my first choice initially. Unfortunately, the rear dropout is 120mm only and I need 135 mm to install the motor I want (either Bafang or Mac). I know there are smaller motors but they are not powerful enough... The frame material is aluminium so I can't bend it in order to...

    New dahon - Jifo 16

It's true it looks like a kid bike. :D But a 8 kg bike seems so nice. Would love to have a fast and light bike.

    New dahon - Jifo 16

Hello guys, I was watching the new bike range from dahon and I've seen a new small size folding bike: It's the jifo 16 and weight just under 9kg!! Jifo 16 | Dahon Worldwide Most of their frame are now in "dalloy aluminium". Same for this one. Too bad it's not steel, I'd love to...

Bike specs here: Electric Bicycles - Aurora £999 What's so special about this bike? It weight 26.5 kg. If you consider the motor (Bafang 350W) + controller weight 5 kg. And the battery 36V10AH Lithium weight 5 kg. Without the electric part you end up with a heavy bike of 16.5 kg. I believe...

Why fitting the motor on the front fork? Wouldn't that be stealthier on the rear?

    Recellyourbattery.com------what are they like?

It seems that they are only doing Ni-MH and NI-CD batteries: Prices | Recell Your Battery Most of us have lithium batteries now.

    New battery or new bike

ok lol. You just sell your batteries before they get too old lol. 36V15AH at 20 amps is 1.3C. I was wondering how many C the new NiCoMn can pull. Because it seems to be really good value. Except for the low C rate and the potential very low calendar life (loose 14 percent every year)

    The future of commuting bike?

I already have a full size folding bike I'm carrying through the stairs: it weight 24 kg and it's quite tough!!! That's why I want to change it to a smaller size bike. And lighter of course!

I think it's a 20" wheel for the downtube FS. So it's not the smallest fully suspended available. D3v8h, the rear dropout of the jetstream seems to be 130mm: Reference: http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/8319-dahon-20-rear-drop-out-width.html

    New battery or new bike

d8v3h, do you know if the battery is going to loose 14 percent of its capacity every year? have you lost capacity since you have it? And what's your max amps you can get with it?

    Are all bikes fragile?

+1 for d8v3h. When you buy have a steel frame, you can extend the rear dropout to add your favorite motor :)

I tested the Jetstream, but I didn't like it: I had the impression that the suspension were too strong, it was like it didn't work. And I love so much the "pschhhh" sound of the real air suspension when you bounce that I want something like this now  The Downtube FS seems cool too:
