You need to give a lot more details about what you have. Which battery and what's it's rated current? Which controller do you already have? What are you hoping to achieve by the upgrade? Which motor do you have and what is it's max RPM or Kv?

It would be better to let people help you, but learning by doing is equally valid. It'll probably take a bit longer and cost more to end up with a suitable solution though.

A new battery is normally half-charged (37V) when you get it, so it should take about 3 hours. 6.5 hours doesn't sound good. A charger can slow down when it gets nearly full, like around 41V, but not at 39.5v.

Not really. We need a lot more info to comment further. Also more photos from fifferent angles and maybe one without the nut and washer to see how the axle sits in the drop-out. As you have a side-mount caliper adapter, it would be dead easy to fit a torque arm, which will be much more secure.

You need a BMS that can provide say 20A or more, so the 35A one will be finefrom that point of view. If you do a bit of searching, you might find one with the right connector.
